People need to know there's a HUGE gap in power between the oldest 3 Destiny, Death, and Dream. And everyone else, Destiny is by far more powerful than all of them. Death is the next most powerful, and Dream is the 3rd most powerful. Just imagine how powerful their mother and father are in Darkness and Time.

I'd argue it's a toss up between Death and Destiny on who's more powerful. For example Death claimed an entire creation before the current one. But to illustrate how much stronger Death, Dream and Destiny are, in Overture, Dream literally remade creation from people's memories of it (which is why he was weakened enough to be captured, since overture takes place immediately before the original Sandman book)

Mason Alexander Park was an absolutely amazing choice for Desire. Which so sharply contrasts with how goofy a person they are in real life. They always look like an IT nerd. And Tom Sturridge nails it as the imposing, dark, prince of dreams. Which again is so different from how he looks in real life, because in most photos he looks like he's waking up from a blackout drunk wondering why he's handcuffed to the bathroom sink and where did ostrich come from?

One of the most impactful things on rereading this series is noticing all the symbolism. The series The Doll's House focusing on Desire's plot refers literally to Unity's doll house that represents her lost youth, but symbolically it refers to the disagreement between Desire, who believes mortals are their playthings - their dolls, and Dream who understands that the Endless serve the living. And Desire's sanctuary is a literal figure of them, a doll-shaped doll's house in which Desire resides. The plaything who believes themself to be the player.

Ugh, I adore Desire's character. Mason portrays them beautifully. Edit: I also like the touch that in Dream's gallery, Desire's sigil is a heart. But in Desire's gallery, they just have a mirror in their spot. Dream's sigil is his mask in both galleries, so Desire having a mirror for themself to look into is just very Desire.

I don't think so. At least not directly. Destiny definitely knew what was happening because it's written in his book, but I don't believe Death could enter Desire's Realm without his knowledge or consent. And since neither Dream nor Desire died here, Death wouldn't have a foothold.

If you fall asleep before astral projection while using the gateway tapes, you will have quite wild lucid dreams. In one I got to speak to my deceased grandmother(waking up only to realize she's gone was like the day it happened) while in another I believe I met this Dream the Endless. Somewhere between dreaming and projection, I get out of my recliner while my body is sti sleeping. I see my house and family going about their business. I look to my right and I see a man. Before he can speak, I will him to go away and he dissipated into black clouds befote vanishing completely. I then get up out of my chair again(same state) as if I rewound a video and there he is again, this time in the hallway. He speaks to someone who looks like a deranged version of my oldest son and says, "this one is like us, we can't have him fooling with our food supply." (Direct qoute from the "dream") He then pokes me on my forehead, between the eyes and I jolted awake back into waking reality. Since that experience, I have felt a pressure in the spot where he poked me.
