Very good review. You are 100% right that it's the archer not the price of the bow. As long as it's a functional bow that's comfortable to the archer and without any defects it doesn't matter if it's a $50 bow or $500 you can get the same results. God bless.

Good review. I just purchased the Royal X8 about a month ago and love it. It's a fast and comfortable bow to shoot, with lighter Gold Tip arrows. I personally don't like the HEAVY arrows that came with it.

Its a little higher in weight because of the higher brace height. The limbs are flexing more to reach 28" draw

Yes with a shorter string and 7,5” braceheight, the poundage would be spot on, I believe

Thank you very much for the video and showing us that arch. I am increasingly convinced that there is no need to pay more for a bow, both for hunting and for shooting in competitions. Regarding the rope, it has a good solution, change it for a longer one and it's solved...don't you think?

Liked your video Peter that's a nice bow, I have a martin 50 lb bow exact demintions of that bow,,if my bow wasn't marked a martin and martin trade mark, my bow is identical even in riser color , if I didn't know better i would say ur bow was a martin, good video thanks for sharing

I liked sanlida takedown recurve so much I bought a 60# & the 45# one. And the longbow, not the full lenght recurve. Also super smooth like butter on a hot pancake.

The quiver on the is not a part of the deal. There is a back quiver with the kit. The quiver on the bow is on of my own. It cost more than the whole kit

What do you think of the Eagle versus the Hermit? Does the extra cost of the Hermit just get you ILF fittings, or is there a big difference in performance too?

The Hermit is a high performance bow, compared to the Eagle X9, 15 to 20 fps more with the Hermit

@@peterjuulsgaard In that case I think I should upgrade from the fiberglass/wood Black Hunter limbs to some carbon/foam ILF limbs. Do you have a favorite brand of carbon/foam ILF limbs you recommend? How does the Sanlida Hermit limbs compare to similar Bosen carbon/foam limbs?

@@ThirdLawPair I have the Bosen longbow limbs. The performance is around the same as the Sanlida Hermit limbs. But the Bosen are more stacky, cause they are longbow limbs. But I like the stack, it helps with better release

Peter - I know this has nothing to do with this video, but you need to address what's happening with Sanlida Archery. Both 'Nusensei' and 'Jake Kaminski' on KZbin, have just put out videos regarding their terrible and predatory business model. It was so bad for Jake that he has asked everybody to boycott their company. I know this is not your fault Peter and you are very genuine and creditable. However, because you have loudly and happily endorsed their company and products, I am concerned that this does now not look good for your image. You really need to make a comment on your take on all of this and hopefully disendorse them as well. I personally was trying to track down one of their bows from Australia, so I could get one, but now I certainly will not be.

I am convinced that it is not "the archer" unless he is building his own arrows for that bow. You can't just buy arrows, and do anything repeatable with them, when they are all slightly different. That looks like a bitchen bow.

The arrows that comes with the bow, works fine for the 50# model. Problem is that no matter which poundage you get, the arrows are always spine 500. So the arrows works fine for the beginner to shoot away and lose, and then get some well tuned arrows for it afterwards. In all, a good beginner kit
