The Sansula is a must-have instrument for anyone interested in sound healing, sound meditation, or any form of meditative music.
Essentially, is a variation of the mbira, sansa or kalimba, a Southern African thumb piano that is one of the world’s oldest instruments. Essentially, the sansula is a kalimba suspended on a drum head, which was designed by Peter Hokema.

This is a beautiful instrument to play during a soundbath session. In particular I like to play its pure and innocent tones after the all-encompassing harmonies of the gongs. Playing it over the heart centre seems to be an exquisitely purifying experience for the client.

No, the keys generally stay in tune. However, its also quite easy to tune them if for some reason they fall out of tune!
