Best advice I think you need. When you first introduce a species introduce only 2 or 3 and watch them on a slow speed so you can react and mutate them to fix them.

You have to focus on everything all at once. Can’t mutate and forget about the herbivores or the plants

At 26:25 you set it to "go away from it", not "go towards it". Perhaps that's why they seemed to not move, because seeing food made them go there but hearing the other animals made them do the opposite do the result is staying still therefore not eating which led to not having enough energy to reproduce. Although I may be wrong, I don't know 🤷

I also think that it might have been something about the hole attack "food" food is what meat from already dead animals is called. If you want something to hunt something else it needs to look for colour of that creature and go to wards and attack.

Glad you figured out a solution. You mentioned that increasing the body size made it more cold-tolerant, would increasing the surface area, maybe by giving it a tail, not have increased the heat-dissipation/tolerance?
