This is still relevant 5 years later and I think it always will be until people truly want to understand and respect what the 1st Amendment is really all about. What gets me is how the Christians claim to want “religious freedom” and are angry against “religious persecution”, but look at prosecute any religion or non-religion that is not their own. I don’t worship Satan but I really could care less if you do. Religion isn’t important in this regard; what’s important is wether or not we are actually doing right by one another. Actually, I was told that until not long ago Norway was one of the European states with the strongest ties between church and state, to the point that the king was the head of the church, like in England. If you want to find a state that has a serious separation from the church I think in Europe it would be France. Though I guess the most church-free state of all times was the Kingdom of Italy in its first decades, where all members of parliament and government were automatically excommunicated by the Catholic church.

He faithfully served, and was known for, his unquestionable loyalty to the crown.He served five Kings of England. Marshall was also known for his chivalry on the battlefield, personal relationships, and honesty in any personal interaction. He was given a wealthy bride, a widow, Isabel de Clare as reward. He was named 1st Earl of Pembroke by Henry 11 in August 1189. Isabel was one of the wealthiest widows in England; a great prize for honor on the battlefield. Isabel was 18, and Marshal well over 40.They had 10 children. On his deathbed Marshal received the blessing of his wife to be buried as a Templar Knight. He wore the grey and red livery that you see pictured. To me it was a fascinating time in word history in which loyalty to the crown was rare. He died in 1219, buried at Temple Church, London. That's what I remember off the top of my head.
