Tell your kids from an early age that you love them every day, pay attention to them, hug them, allow them to realize it's okay to make mistakes, learn from them, listen to them and let them know people won't agree with them and that's okay. So they don't start a cult lol

I'm not going to lie. prior to hearing Unicole's story, I would've had judgmental thoughts and thought this was weird, but after hearing about her struggle with depression, how she miraculously survived her attempted suicide, and how what she's doing brings meaning to her life, I say all the power to her. People need hope. People need a sense of community, and sometimes they feel they're not able to get it in conventional society. Still not for me, but I'm not going to criticize her.

I wish they delved more into how cults work in general and how the same mechanics you can see in other cults or sects work in this one. Like the guru said in the video, we have this idea that cult = bad but most people don't know why. We need to talk about the isolation and the loss of autonomy and critical thinking. Also they didn't explain how she makes money..? Plus these new age spiritual-mashups are shitting all over older traditions and disciplines without any care for the context and philosophies behind them. It's superficial and all in the name of the aesthetics.

I think we could do a lot more to give people a sense of fellowship and community that isn't based around fantasies. Our work-obsessed, individualistic, and extensively competitive societies create a dynamic of isolation. When a person's only community is their workplace and their value gauged exclusively by the qualifications on their resume, it can box people into a corner that's never been natural to the human condition. We're very much social creatures. When you take away that social component, people start to look for it among the fringes.

This comment is so important. I absolutely adore your sentiment, and feel you're totally right. I hope someday we can change the way we live in society; where we're basically living at work, and have no time to reach out to find others to have in our life.. it's heartbreaking that we've done this to ourselves

I do agree. While I think believing in some sort of other worldly power is natural when we don't know all the answers to life and need comfort, our lack of societal closeness and community feel is harming is and allowing people who want to abuse and control to come in and claim leader
@laurend9829
@laurend9829 5 жыл бұрын
This was such a great comment, regarding fellowship and community that isn't based around fantasy. Reality shouldn't be so painful and socially removed that people resort to fantasy driven leaders. (Get your fix in books or video games the old fashioned way!) It's sad that we feel so without community. I feel this way, so I have to be watchful about where I try to find like minded people. Lonely people are at risk of turning to charlatans for their social needs. Society needs fixing.

Bazanji I have no reason to believe 5g is harmful in any noticeable way, if you have any studies that show otherwise I’d be happy to take a look. As for “emf shielding paint”, the lead in lead paint is about 0.05% (by mass), not only is it not anywhere near enough to stop em radiation, it’s not what it was intended for so why call it emf shielding paint? I have aluminium foil in the insulation used in my walls and it blocks phone data, why is it one of the most popular type of insulation? Surely _the_ _man_ would want to put a stop to this shiny em radiations shielding people put in their houses? But no, they ban the paint that contains trace amounts of lead... riiiight 🤷‍♂️

When people go so far to collect people around them, the meaning I read into it is that someone is desperately lonely. Then I ask what it is that makes their being alone so unbearable. If someone cannot accept their own company, they certainly are not ready for my companionship. I would rather be by myself and enjoy the best company possible. The other thing is that online social media is not "The Digital World". To understand the basics of the "digital world", I had to start by learning TCP/IP.

Robo Cop Ritual can help people process things-indeed, a lot of therapeutic techniques involve ritual. No one’s saying that burning a candle with the thing you are worried about carved on it will actually make the thing go away; people are just saying that doing so can give you a psychological feeling of release. Understanding and learning to manage your sub-rational emotions (which sometimes involves using techniques like this) is essential to becoming a mature, high-functioning human being, so if you’re really into using your brain you should probably look into this.
@taiefmiah
@taiefmiah 5 жыл бұрын
@Robo Cop that's alright. I'll make my brain magically release endorphins by just thinking. Maybe some serotonin. I'll also motivate myself by thinking about being motivated. The way people experience emotions doesn't work that way, because our emotions are drawn from past experiences and association. You're never truly in control of them, you just manage them. It's the same reason I can't make myself happy by sitting there thinking in my head "I am happy".

@@lilcrabbybabby Shutting yourself away, and limiting yourself to a fringe group on the internet is a text book example of social isolation. These people aren't getting help, they're digging themselves deeper into their anxiety and depression by rejecting the world around them. They've created an environment where the mentally ill, help the mentally ill. They become overly reliant on this group for a lack of social stimulation, and if anything remotely negative we're to happen it would shatter their illusion of being accepted. I have internet friends, they're great people, a few of them I've met in real life, but talking to them over skype/discord can never replace the social aspects and benefits of going out with friends to the mall, or to a bar.

Really, resuscitated "within 2 hours of dying", thats not how the body works usually, sounds more like loss of consciousness. You can flat line for approximately 4 to 6 mins, anything after 10 mins means you are almost definitely going to have impaired brain function or loss of motor functions. Although after 20 mins in some cases there may be a slight higher chance to be resurrected via de-fib according to some. Finding it very hard to believe considering this would be a seriously rare case, especially as this was mixed with factors of high toxin levels and a 20 foot fall. I have a feeling this story has been heavily embellished. Is this to sound more "religious" through an act of resurrection hmmmmm..... Fuck this mate i'm out.

My deep sense of cynicism can be frustrating because it prevents me from making significant connections with people, yet I appreciate the independence it provides me at the same time. I am forced to acknowledge my own deficiencies and come up with constructive solutions rather than allowing someone else to do it for me. Many people can seek useful advice from others and benefit from it is a simple fact, but too many seem to want the answers just handed to them.

Moon Zoo if this is the future we really are fucked. Belief makes real is the most counter productive belief you could hold. The universe doesn’t love you, you are alive because of the reality around you, in fact you are alive in spite of all of the factors that could so easily kill you. Understanding your own pointlessness and finding solace in how lucky you are to be alive is actually freeing. Thinking that you have a supernatural special purpose and inventing a cult around your self is not moving forward to reach new grounds for humanity, its the oldest shit around. I have no respect for this kind of thing because it has hurt our species and stunted our growth. She clearly has serious trauma and has invented all of this to survive in a world that can’t support her. Does that make her strong? Maybe. But is it innovative and the kind of belief we need at this time? Fuck. No.

I read her entire website and page. You are always allowed to practice a religion (whatever you want) with this cult. If you think that this whole thing is fucked up, literally just read her website. It never says you can and do anything - it's legit just telling you to be a nice person. 100% harmless, you can practice whatever you like and she encourages you to create your own belief system. I dunno, I thought it was weird at first but after I did some research it's 100% harmless.

The message I got from unicult is that we are all already programmed, and we have the ability to reprogram ourselves to be what we actually want to be instead of letting others program us to be what they want. This video focuses on the more obvious cult behavior and pop aesthetic which are just not for everyone. but I encourage people to take a closer look because there is more there than what the commenters are lazily mocking.

rejecting society and it's narratives isn't done by believing in magic, that's straight up rejecting reality and it helps no one but the girl (and her followers) as a coping mechanism, as most religion do as well the difference being that religion has a cultural and societal validation, instead of rejecting the idea of coping with reality with lies she just ditches the idea of cultural and societal validation but keeps the essence of a religion/cult, which only goes to show how crazy or lacking in critical thinking any blind believer is... it's good to believe in a better future, but what good is it if you do nothing but close your eyes and imagine a better one instead of working to get a better one

Remember you are always on time and when you are on fire, stop, drop and roll, practice breath work and focus on all there is to be grateful for. What you exercise grows so if you practice worrying or suffering, you will become great at it . Focus on all the greatness and good you have in your life and you will cultivate more because you are generating and concentrating that energy. Lastly, you amazing god incarnate, you have all the answers. Find what resonates with you and use your time on earth wisely. Make sure your crown chakra is not over or under active, you need to approach this life in both the physical and metaphysical realms. That's very understandable. The world can be a harsh and unforgiving place and feelings like insecurity, alienation and loneliness are part of the human condition. The problem with communities like this one is that their approach is that you can solve these things or transcend them. Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. You need to find ways to deal with those feelings and give them a place in the world and yourself. That's the journey that gives life meaning. There are no answers, just the beauty of giving meaning to life.

THIS. Reminds me of the tension between Modernism and Empiricism vs Kant and spiritual values (traditional, Christian), between societies and groups vs individuals. Depending on the situation. I have found that "problems" which cause or are associated with depression and anxiety are often unreal & imaginary and/or subjective. *Especially* true with so-called social realities, in contrast to what one person commented "Cancer". "Social realities" are to some extent fluid. "If 99% of the people in the world hate you, that would mean there's millions who love you" - some such quote. If you're Aspie and find rejection, it's possible to find acceptance, maybe not mass prom queen acceptance. Thinking about that girl who was bullied by groups of girls in school who invented an anti-bullying campaign and has appeared on TED and with various celebrities to promote that. To some extent, imagining "a new reality" -- which does not yet exist -- or which exists "in the future" -- or exists in God's intention for you -- or however a person wants to say it, that is or can be the first step to changing whatever is current reality. Mental illness or conversely mental health MAY LARGELY BE tied to this ... it varies how much is fluid and how much may be hard-coded or hard-wired in the brain. Business success books and such encourage learning about the nuts and bolts but also about imagining successful outcomes, in that imagining doom and gloom, focusing on overly-pessimistic outcomes, imagining failure, imagining humiliation, can be the insurmountable barrier. That said, good business people also cling closely to rational pessimism and rational risks of failure, because of the dangers of excess optimism and irrational risk-taking. Physical illnesses, such as a unregulated growth of sick deformed cells that aren't being killed off, that's a real phenomenon. People's *reactions* to a cancer diagnosis, such as excessive paranoia about having one, and emotional reactions to fears of impending sickness & death, life ending too soon, a lot of that is subjective, as evidenced by people's different reactions. Some people decide to open up their lives, accept, and live every moment with joy. Some sink into depression. Some decide herbs and vitamins and magic will heal them.

@Sahiyena11 4 жыл бұрын
I mean I'm hella not into this weird internet cult and it gives me the creeps hard, but Jones wasn't this way at all. Jones had issues obviously but his followers were mostly murdered in large scale. Jones started off by giving minorities and the disenfranchised a home and a place to feel important and ar home together. He began by doing something wonderful that naturally soured as he gained his power and influence. Many of his followers were absolutely not willing to kill themselves for him and would not have if they had not literally been forced by gunpoint and stranded in a compund in a foriegn country. I really suggest(if you can stomach it....) listening to the notorious death tape and looking into how Jones built his cult from something nice into a massacre eventually. I suppose my point is Jim Jones was the fucked up one and his followers payed for it. What scares the hell out of me is a cult like this started by a mentally unstable person who is able to bring other mentally unstable folk into her fold. It creates a situation where they begin to live in a fantasy surrounded by those whom validate said fantasy and can easily lead the collective to something awful. It worries me that instead of seeking your own answers and asking for help from professionals these people may end up stuck in a hive mind.
