The names that Rushdie has used in his novels are of historic and religious personalities; and when he talks of those characters in his novel getting messages in dreams etc, it kind of mixed the fiction with the real story, and made a mockery of the sacred feelings of a community. This is what Rushdie has done. Let me explain. If someone plays with the texts of National Anthem in a funny and disrespectful manner, and then if he says that it is fiction, would anyone accept him to be a worthy man? That's the analogy to be drawn about Rushdie. He wilfully created the controversy out of hatred for religious beliefs. That's what can be inferred.

I believe that when someone insults our Nabi (SAW) it is nothing but a test from Allah'tala. Alhmadulliah. Allah will be pleased as we've passed the test and we will all enter Jannah inshAllah. What is happening now is a failed test. After every insult our Muslim brothers and sisters go on a witch hunt against those who insult, with assaults, killings, bombings, stabbings, death threats, violence, anarchy and general mayhem. Even those who silently support these radical Muslims are failing the test. Those who were thinking of embracing Islam will now turn their backs on the greatest religion of Peace because of these extremists. This makes Allah'tala very angry and you will bring his curse upon you. Once you fail the test there is no coming back. Jahanam is your final resting place.
