I finally received my issue yesterday thanks to the Diamond distribution fumble. It was a fantastic issue overall. The pacing in the main story was jarring at times. Conan being cold in a cave, then it jumps to the googly eyed fellow ripped to pieces. I thought the weapon the witch told Conan to ask for would be more of a feature than it was. The sword just appeared later, then shattered just as quickly. I flipped back and forth a couple of times to make sure I hadn't missed a page or panel somewhere. I really enjoyed the prose story by Matt John. Making a follow-up to the frost giants daughter and invoking a little Lovecraft's color outta space into it. Dark Agnes wasn't a terrible yarn either. I really don't know much about her and her character beyond what I read here and battle of the black stone. So far, I'm really enjoying the ride and looking forward to the future. It's looking bright for Titan and our Stygian brothers. I'm here for all of it!

Hopefully the Diamond drama doesn't continue to negatively impact things! And glad you got a chance to read it. Isherwood's art just feels so right in SSoC. But yeah, there were some odd hiccups to the panels. But a great issue overall. 👍⚔️

Avoided your review until tonight, and after I had the chance to pick these up earlier today and read them! Agreed on the ‘best issue yet’ moniker! Isherwood/Aaron did a great job with the two issue ark. Keep up the fine work Dog-brother! Looking forward to the forthcoming Solomone Kane books too.

This issue was awesome. Jason Aaron’s story definitely had some wild moments and I loved the surprise ending. I’m excited to read the next issue with Roy Thomas and De La Torre.

Very cool stuff. Thanks for the rundown of the Solomon Kane previews! I will definitely be picking that mini series up! I just finished Cult of the Obsidian Moon last weekend. I really enjoyed it. It had good pacing and great action. The dialog could get a little wordy, I think that is just Lovegrove's style though. It fits with his Sherlock pastiche, but could sometimes be slightly odd for Conan. But that is a minor complaint. Still highly enjoyed it! I'm very much behind in my current comic reading, but I'm hoping to catch up over the holiday break. Thanks again for the great video dog brother!

I really enjoy this channel ! However I wonder if you would ever change the theme music to something a little more barbaric sounding and epic rather then the kind of Futuristic electronic beat and melody , it just seems off brand. No disrespect at all , maybe there’s good reason for you using this music I just think some war drums and battle horns or some power metal would Suit Conan better ! thanks for all you do and forgive my overthinking of the music haha

You provide excellent updates. The cover of this issue was kind of cool, not normally my style, but had a savage look to it. Zaffino pin-up was good, I agree with the use of the entire page is better. I didn’t mind the art, overall, it was good, a little stiff at times. I was really enjoying the story; however, it went off the rails towards the end of Part IV, one minute Conan was freezing in the cold then all of a sudden, they had the buddy with all the eyeballs tore apart. This came out of nowhere, I flipped back and forth trying to pick up the flow of the story; however, it unraveled for me after that. Conan with magic blood, getting carried around by fairies was too much. Very disappointed how quickly this story deteriorated, I definitely need some Roy Thomas and de la Torre after this one. Madness on the Mound short story was good and nice pin-up by Raney. Disliked the art in Dark Agnes, back cover painting was cool.

@OldManHyborian That was a weird moment, right? (Eyeball dude...) At first I wondered if it was a printing error, like something got placed out of sequence. I, too, flipped back and forth wondering if I missed something. Really weird sequence. I guess it failed to capture the passage of time. Totally messed with the flow. And yeah, it got pretty crazy, that's for sure. I've been reading a lot of mid-80s SSoC and they can have the same feeling at times. So the rough patches and odd bits are almost endearing, making it feel authentic. Also allows me to forgive a lot. As long as I'm getting a kick out of it when I'm reading it in the moment. 😊
