One bit of evidence you didn't mention: In the tome cutscene, Tapp lacks the scar on his neck. However on his ingame model, he has a scar. Since BHVR has shown the scar before, they know it makes sense for him to have it, meaning the tome must take place before SAW.

Another wonderful thing about this tome is the title, Desecration of the Heart. It thematically ties the entire thing together, Tapp's disintegrating marriage, the Sarenko's grieving, and the jackhammer trap itself, all of them share the motif of figurative (or literal) heartbreak. Honestly brilliant on Behaviour's part to release this story alongside the Valentines Day rift.

If we're being fair, with sing's character, he could have been joking because tapp ignored his wife so much with the line in saw 1. His obsession was priority even before sing's death. and sing felt like an upbeat individual that would crack a joke at tapps expense. Hence why that would be the case. Also from time to time, Id imagine detetives when performing interviews wouldnt use wedding rings as a method to get more psycological patients to have less of a common ground when being interviewed. tapp being a detective and mainly for the movie either dealing with psychos or interviewing lawrence gorden, this could have been that strategy.

Fun Fact about the game ( the first one anyway). It's written by James Waan And Leigh Weinall. Making it canon somewhat to the first film, and its also set in between the 1st and 3rd films. Also highly recommend play8ing through it once, its cheesy but fun. And hearing Tobin Bell voice Jigsaw is always a treat. Amazing video by the way, Tapp is one of my favorite Saw characters and a main of mine in DBD!

The entity alters the realms it consumes to fuck with the characters that came with it. Tapp thought Gordon was the jigsaw killer, so Tapp seeing Gordon dead would fuck with him. That's the point. Danny Johnson can bring his own unique spin on the mythos of the Ghostface. BHVR can add some lines that he's not the only Ghostface Killer in the US, but he's the most elusive of them, so that you could imply that the Scream movies are somewhat canon in DBD. He's not a teenager who just wants to get back at someone, or who is angry that their favorite movies series has gone to shit, he's a glory seeker who also sates his murderous urges by meticulously stalking his victims and strikes at the most (in)opportune moment. So you can show Danny's trail of murders in his Tome story, making it like an anthology of his "best hits" while showing him to be different from the Scream killers. In fact, the closest characters to Danny in Scream are Stu and Jill, so BHVR can also play on the contrast to the movie characters to make Danny stand out on his own. For example, Danny can stage a story with himself being the only survivor and thus tricking the others that he is beneath suspicions.

Originally leigh wannell was gonna have in a Original script that jigsaw would test tapp because he was a vurgin or something. The video games are cannon because lionsgate had zombie studios take out the fact that Doctor Gordon was originally gonna be the pighead in saw (2009) Lionsgate changed things in the two games because they had to fit in on the CANNON timeline. So the two video games are cannon and the first game takes place after saw 1 and before saw 2 and the second takes place between saw 2 and saw 3. You should make a video on the both games because they are under exposed great games.
