the tree size only matters if you are selling the logs, in a sawmill you dont even need to trim them just chuck the whole tree in

I started using this sawmill as well. It's a huge improvement over the junky 36k one in the base game. I'm still trying to decide if it's a little OP or not. It definitely makes the forest survival pretty easy but cuts down on the monotony that can be forestry. The trigger box is glitchy like you found out when trying to put trees into it. Also, you get wood chips out of the side where the auger is. You just need a bulk trailer to haul them. You're making good progress and it should really start to take off now.

also if you wanted to use a log cut as a guide then i'd suggest a logpole log as they are bigger and easier to see the ends.

if you own the sawmill no need to trim them down to 6m anymore. if there is a difference between cutting them and not, i'd bet its not much and not worth the extra time to cut them down.

Ive got the same sawmill looks like the trigger for the wood had been put up high up very annoying, might wanna use ur front loader

The lumberjack mod tells you the length so you can cut exact lengths.

Lol guess I made my comment too late about the twig tree. I do know what you mean about possibly not being able to see your cuts though (I remember it being a bit of a pain in fs22) I was curious if the length even mattered once you owned a sawmill and turns out it’s all moot at that point haha. At least now we know it would possibly be helpful for maximizing profits on early game starts. Merry Christmas!

@Tathamet21 sometimes you could push the logs with your twig, and it would be easier, but it was never perfect. Still, this sawmill is going to help us tremendously 🤠 Merry Christmas 🎅
