The Scarborough Cliff Trams

for over 150 years Scarborough has hosted millions of tourists and visitors, while some enjoyed the penny arcades and donkey rides, some came for recuperation but navigating up and down the hills of the Scarborough streets was proving difficult. Cue the railways and with a rather unusual answer!

Love Scarborough, my most favourite ride is on North Bay Railway and got the honour of driving Neptune (the very first loco) for my 18th Birthday

Saltburn still has a water balance cliff railway. It is now the oldest water balance cliff railway still in operation. The one in Scarborough was converted to electric operation.

The south cliff tram was a little ways out of the central area and the central is dwarfed by the amusements on either side of it but well worth the trip. BTW congrats on hitting 8K subs. Awesome job
