Depending on the rope and its elasticity, it is possible to unloosen this by tugging one end perpendicular to the knot.

As a former boyscout in my youth here's a tip, if you wanna undo the knot, all you gotta do is push the ends in where the knot is. Hope this helps

I don't think so. There's 2 methods for making a clove hitch, I only really know that 1 requires you to make 2 loops and put them over eachother, the other is like a different version of the constrictor knot.

If you still need help😂😂😂, try a reef knot, the only way to untie it is by relieving tention, witch means it won't get loose until you do it on purpose

it is useful as long as the ends of the rope dont move cuz if they do it will loosen up. thats how you can untie it. take one of the rope ends and pull them in the opposite dirrection than they want to fall to. like take the upper one and pull it down. it works if the thing you tighten on it is smooth so it works better with textured things. it is a good knot but only when it cant move.

Here's a handy FYI about the constrictor knot. If it is tied on a rod and can be slid off the end of the rod the knot will just disappear. That means it can be tied prior to putting it onto the rod. This is super handy for several reasons. 1) you don't have to access the end of the string/rope to tie the knot 2) when using it as a whipping for a larger rope (to prevent fraying) it can be formed then placed onto the larger rope and then tightened.. To accomplish this form a loop, then create a figure 8 in the loop and fold it back over onto the standing part. Its quicker to do it that it takes to read the instructions.

Worth mentioning this knot is much better around round (cylindrical) objects, if you tie it around something like a 3/4in by 3inch flat board then pull on it it’s going to give way with some force. On cylindrical objects this knot is a stud.

I tested out on a toe and I had a knife nearby in case but it can let go so here’s how to do it say your bleeding and need a tourniquet so you tie this knot but you can’t have tourniquets on to long so here’s how you take it off take the part of the x that goes above the lower part of the x and wiggle it around to try to loosen it or lift it even barely then take the lower part of the x and you can pull it off nat sure if that’s a good description but try it on a toe or something it’s really hard to undo normally but that can make it really easy to do and it’s really easy to get the hang of I did it first try

If you push a bight through at the end (instead of the working end on its own), you get a quick release feature. So if you had to use this as a tourniquet it could work decently well, and when you're done just yank the QR bit and it'll come undone
