Man we had 2ft of snow hit northern Michigan and they opened up some ungroomed runs at the resort. First time getting to actually hit untouched pow and get some good turns in.

End of last season we got hit with like 18+ inchs. I was at caberfae in cadillac and south peak was closed for the season A few of us got permission to hike south and man on of my best days ever just pure untouched runs and lots of float. Hiking was soooo worth it

Sugar bowl is so nice. Was there in 2013.The crazy thing is that this is in Californian. Near the coast, it's 20 celsius and skating the thing.

NEAR the coast? Are you kidding me? About five hours away. But yes, it is a fun resort that has not gone too upscale yet. Hopefully the owners don't sell to Vail or another conglomerate so it can stay as it is.

I usually agree with your adventure approach but what you did in that couloir was reckless IMHO. I appreciate publishing it to educate about "what not to do". I hope people will not see it as an example of adrenalin seeking. The terrain conditions shall be known before riding it. When a local advises you to be careful (6:55), you should listen to them and trust their experience. Removing your only anchor tool (your board) on top of an icy waterfall is the worst mistake you can make. Happy to see you were very very lucky, and everything worked out fine

So that was not a local at 6:55 that was Jack and it was his first time ever at Sugar Bowl. Yes. This was stupid and I never advertised it as anything other than what not too do. BUT every situation has to be dealt with individually. Theres no, "keep your board on at all times" rule. I literally slayed that execution without the slightest misstep BECAUSE I took my board off. I appreciate your care, and agree with a lot of what your going for so i get it, thank you.
