Mesmerizing the contours of the b/w shadows light is opposite of film noir, the whites (scene were Catherine is being escorted by the soilders en route), the snow ❄️ the icecles on the tree branches, exquisite a feast for the eyes in cinematography. I compare ex: a 🦓 zebra, is it white with black stripes or black with white stripes, that's the abstract you carefully look but not sure, others will differ in the heir own view. So was Peter mad, or just rebellious (character), the sets brilliantly hypnotic in its presentation (sets). I was hooked, As a young lad (kid) i was glued to the tv 📺📽️ watching the scenes unfold from location to the sets and the costumes by Travis Banton. I tell those that refute to see a b/w film, that it's the imagination the director takes the voyeau it's audience channeling us through history (Scarlett Empress) or present time (Docks of NY) to tell the story, that's the color in 🎥 film. For those that get it, a lesson in 🎨🎭 moviemaking but most importantly showing the movie, through motion. 🦉🎩
