is simply about a woman who commits adultery and the father of the child refuse to admit he is the child's father. She is forced to a scarlet A and stand in public in three hours for public humiliation. She named her daughter Pearl. Many rich dudes made poor women pregnant and left them, rich people had burglary marriages. The poor pregnant women they left had no choice, she needed to carry and take care of the child. People called her whore and disgusting names, they shamed women for having a child before marriage. People didn't show mercy to the poor women to hold the unreasonable man accountable for his actions. What a cruel world this poor women most face. I am glad this book was written it help women to understand their strength and weaknesses.

I love her accent. It's the most understandable accent compared to the other audio books. I read chapters 1-3 with another audio book of some dude and it honestly sounded like Gibberish LOL. I mean, the reading is so challenging and it doesn't make sense to hear Gibberish along with it, right? God bless whoever uploaded this video!

"The Scarlet Letter" is an interesting book but it's sad how people on the older videos of the recordings on KZbin said so many negative comments about the book in the comment section.

@@jasminemartinez1473 As somebody who likes this sort of crap: forcing kids to read this is bad and it clearly makes them resentful. Which is a pity cos it's a good book. It's just not really that good for that age group. Like it has a very niche appeal even to adults, so saddling kids with it year after year is just dumb af and bad teaching. Save it for college and stick to hawthorne's short stories.

That God would give Arthur so much time to repent and make amends says a lot about his unconditional love and mercy. In reality, all of us deserve eternal punishment for our sins. But praise be to God that he made a way for us to be reconciled to him through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ whose blood can wash away all wrongdoing. He is a God who doesn’t throw away or replace the old and dirty things but gives those things a chance to be renewed and restored. He is not willing that any man should perish...not even Arthur, cowardly though he was.
