DW is a class act. One of the absolute very best race car drivers of all time.

I've always been DW fan, as long as he drove a Chevy or GM car, but he was the greatest personality the sport has ever seen

DW you will be remembered as one of the best Nascar drivers in the world

The '89 500 was the one that I didn't watch. After being disappointed all the other years, I didn't think DW would win that year. You best believe I've watched it here on KZbin several times. I never missed another race after that. The 89 Winston made me despise Rusty Wallace and I still do to this day

OMG 😳 The TiDE Ride is 1 of my All Time Favorite Rides , ever since a kid. Especially that Tide 17 , driven by you know who. Mr Daytona 500 Winner in his 17th try and Won it in The 17.

I remember that joke was Waltrip was “all washed up” after getting the Tide ride!

Not a DW fan, but this is a great interview. He doesn't hold back & lets you know what was really going on behind the scenes.

I Love DW. I caught a lot of crap from my dad (an Dale Earnhardt fan) but, I wouldn't budge. I would love just 5 minutes with DW to tell him about a moment I had at 16 that solidified his place in my heart

20:55 I don't know if it is still there or not, but there used to be a rogue western auto still operating up in morristown tennessee in the mid to late 2000s. I miss western auto :( Hell i miss the days of decent parts stores. Seems everything I get these days is junk. Especially master cylinders!! clutch OR brake! i swear! Takes 3 to get a good one :p

I wonder if it ever occurs to Waltrip that all those "good friendships" that "just deteriorated", have a common denominator...him.

It took DW 20 years to do it but he finally earned the fans over. I think fans were pissed off because DW came in & started beating their hero's & then talking & bragging about it. Roll-Tide

Sad that Tide 17 wasn't made into a 1/64 diecast by Racing Champions considering that Ricky Rudd was made in 1992.

Da built NASCAR no matter what they say. I remember as a kid walking into a store and seeing Gatorade for the first time in my life did not even know it was a drink. When I walked out with one I thought wow now that is yummy I bet Dw drinks these everyday.

I'm gonna have to agree with you on this one! Honestly, this was pretty early in the quarantine ... and I'm fairly positive it was the first interview that we did via Zoom. Everybody was getting used to everything.
