So if the fuel cell blew up and had to be rebuilt on the sly, what did he tell the NASCAR inspector the next morning before putting the car on the line, when the inspector would have asked, "Where is the seal on the fuel cell?". When I was a Grand National crew member, the fuel cell received a seal at the first inspection before you could ever go on the track. It was then rechecked before qualifying and again on race morning before you put the car on the line. I even remember a time when we were having to fix something in the rear of the car and one of the guys accidentally broke the seal. We had to go to NASCAR and have them come reseal it before we could go back on the track for practice. This story has some holes in it.

I worked with Troy back then. We could fix the lead seals with a solder gun. They use to seal the neck on the fuel cell cans and then the fuel cell racks got a seal.
