The attendance secretary got like this with my mom once…when she said, “you ARE aware Mrs Clark, that this will affect her attendance record, right?” My mom, who’d been up all night with my sick baby sister, said, “oh no! However will she survive the rest of her life with an early departure on her middle school attendance record?!! Her life is OVER! Whatever will we do?!!” Very loudly and very dramatically. Then she calmed down and said, “have a nice day.” And led me, (laughing my ass off, btw) out the door. The principal had heard the commotion and come out of his office. @MusicalBotany2 жыл бұрын
Why have we all had similar experiences? I had a counseling appointment scheduled the day of a a band concert, so I missed the class period that morning (but I was on time to the rehearsal before the evening concert). My band teacher forbade me from performing in one of the pieces because he didn't feel I was "ready" enough.
@Medaya142 жыл бұрын
My band teacher was looked at and praised for being almost a grumpy old grandpa. Boomer and “get off my lawn” type of guy. I loved him him too but boy did he piss me off. And everyone just TOOK it, no questions asked. Well I had a major life trauma and honestly gave up on myself, life, everything - so I honestly couldn’t stand to hear something so unimportant being made to be such a big deal. Exhibit A: we were told we were disrespecting other schools by leaving during their performance to go to the restroom or get food/water, therefore we were banned from doing so the entire night out and during class and after school practices. I was thinking to myself - we have kids with eating disorders in this class, we have others with health conditions (they can’t not drink water or grab their inhaler or eat), we have young girls that NEED to go to the restroom during the 7 am to 9/10 pm performance day. He had suggested these things before but he was saying now he’s enforcing them. I cut him off immediately with the loudest voice I have ever used toward him and (knew this would make him uncomfortable but proved my point) WHAT ABOUT US GIRLS WITH PERIODS, WE ARE LITERALLY BLEEDING FROM OUR VAGINAS AND CAN DIE FROM TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROME IF WE DONT CHANGE OUR TAMPONS/PADS. He didn’t even argue back, he looked so disgusted and so caught off guard and immediately knew he was in the wrong and wrapped up what he was saying so fast and hid in his office while we all packed up to go home. After some more semi unrelated traumatic shit I decided to drop band because of the toxic bs reported his abusive comments and behaviors to the school counselor. They were pretty moderate things considering more severe forms of abuse but nevertheless damaging to an impressionable teens psyche. He retired the following school year.

You can stop this by smiling and telling them to have a nice day/weekend. They tell my parents that I'm such a lovely student.

they act so pissed but like getting any kind of appointment on the weekend is like trying to find gold

growing up the ladies at the front desk/most office staff at schools were so mean 😭😭😭 this is so accurate

Wow the office ladies at my school are so nice, nothing like the ones you portray. Lucky or I'd never get to leave for appointments.

When she asked “what kind of an appointment” I answered that it was an orthodontist appointment for my braces since I actually have braces and I have an orthodontist appointment in a few hours

Oh I love and hate how accurate this is. Schools need to treat the students better.

What used to frustrate me was the fact that my son’s orthodontist only worked 9-4 each day and so he had to go in school time! Thankfully his receptionist was so fab ❤

The receptionist acting like she's running the school single handedly.🙄 It's the entitlement she has to know exactly where this kid is going. . . It's an appointment, kick rocks.

You are so incredible at these characters!!! I’ve never actually wanted to punch someone in the face before that doesn’t even exist 💀🤣

They act so pissed off when this is literally in there job description….like ma’am if the only thing you want to do as a school receptionist is make our time at school even worse then the door to jump off a cliff is to your right :)

They act like the student booked the appointment And then when they talk to the parent, who did book the appointment, they seem completely unaware that that may have been the only time available. She nailed it

Next time you do another short like this you absolutely NEED to put some dark eyeshadow or somthing under your eyes to make dark circles, they ALWAYS have dark-dark circles lol! Love your accuracy 🌝💅🧋💦✨

I remember in high school the secretary pressing me for details about a funeral I was attending to see if an absent was excusable. "It's my grandpa's funeral" I said. That was the end of the conversation.

LoL!! My daughter's high school had a lady just like this!! She tried to tell me I couldn't pull my daughter from class (reason doesn't matter, she's My child) and after a bit of back and forth, I just told her to shut her face. And she did.

Too accurate. I got this when I was getting my braces. I didn't get to attend the end of year little event they did for 100% attendance because I wanted to not have teeth that were going to physically destroy my face :')

In my school, if you go for an appointment, they don't take away your attendance so it would still be 100 percent if the only reason you're not in school is for appointments.

But if you come late they're super nice about it,they compliment you all the time and try to make small talk:),if you're leaving they will tell you how lucky you are lmao
