That's one of the reasons why I'm homeschooled because we don't have to go fully along with the education curricula that the government puts down for schools. Plus, no bullying, (only the occasional sibling fight) and you can take as much time as you need to finish a subject. :) I wish more people were homeschooled because it's awesome

when i was in school they used to lock the bathrooms during the lessons and open them during lunch and recess when i was in grade 4 i had kidney problems so i had to go to the bathroom every 10 mins and whenever i needed to go to the bathroom the teacher would say NO and it was horrible and it caused more trouble in my kidneys and when i told my parents about this they complained to the school and told them that i have to use the bathroom frequently but the school still didnt accept my parets compliment so then after the first semester my parents moved me to another school that allows us to go to the bathroom anytime we want and thats why grade 4 is the most grade i hate

My parents are kinda verbally abusive, and since I was labeled as a “smart kid” at a young age my grades were expected to be very high. i have to say one of the things that has really brought the issue of the school system is online school. from my own experiences, cyber school has been nothing more half of the kids ignoring the work because they cant get in trouble, and the other half cheating their way through it. the teachers dont have anyway to help the kids who are failing , and school boards are just adding more rules from requiring your cameras to be on to telling you what to wear in your own home. the only way i see the education system being fixed is to destroy the concept of school as a whole.

Also, working things out in like maths and science and that is goddamn annoying, and falls into the same thing of humans wanting the easiest possible route. Who cares how you worked it out, it worked out! I myself had an issue of trying to show off with test scores and still do, cause I am one of the smart kids in my class and I'm a teen, so I'm a show-off. But with those types of questions where it's like pick a category of difficulty, you're teachers are legit forcing the smarter kids to do harder degree of difficulty (even tho half the time its not difficult, but that's me). Then when that happens you are forced to show the 'correct' way to do it even though there are millions of different strategies you can use, and all that should be needed is the one you are most familiar with. For example, factors. Some of these can be legit challenging, and I understand teaching us this for the harder ones, but only the people who need to know factors for a job path would need to know how to solve the harder factor questions. Otherwise, we don't need to know any methods for working out factors, you only _might_ need to learn what the things are. e.g. Q: What are the factors of 36. Me: in my head - 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, 36 Also me, forced to work it out to not fail even though I know the answers: Uses a factor tree. IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. And if you dare even think I used a calculator to work that out, know that I am not dumb enough to use a tool to disprove my own argument, as that would make me a hypocrite. Basically, your being a dumb***

I have an example of different teaching styles and how differently it goes through; So last year during school, in science, I had two different teachers. One taught one half of the year and then I switched teachers. The first one was a great teacher, we did posters and summarised what we did each day, doing many diagrams, we made models. And basic she made it super easy for you to learn. Then when I got my new teacher, it was different. We did loads of notes and powerpoints and worksheets, the same stuff everyday. And I would find myself zoning out and not remembering anything at all. So sometimes it’s the teachers that’s the problem. They may be qualified in their field, but maybe not a good teacher.

as a nerodivergent person, school was hands down the worst part of my life. i cannot tell you how much it deteriorated my mental health and made me feel worthless, how little help i got cause "i'm very bright i just wasn't trying hard enough" and how often i was marked as a trouble child because of it. i got the chance to drop out when covid hit and i fucking took it, left and never looked back, my mental health is so much better now and i don't feel as worthless anymore. The fact that school it set up in such a way that this happened to me simply because my brain works a bit different is high key nausiating. i shouldn't have had to drop out to not have horrific self deprecation issues, i shouldn't have needed to leave just to feel like a real person again.

The main reason I h8 homework: Schools keep up for almost a third of the day and 90% of the week, and after we come home we are mostly wore out and wanna play video games or take a nap, but no we have to do homework which on the homework is the stuff we learn at school. Also school is almost completely useless ( for example tell me how many times u think ur gonna use a graph outside school) and then if u dont do homework, my school makes me sit out recess, also the school I go to completely sucks considering the office only believes teachers. She understood that the kids had a life outside of school and know how tired they might be from the long day they had.
