I think there is nothing wrong with going to school or university especially if someone is interested in a major, but it is wrong to go to university or college for income or wealth, as wealth has different aspects. And in whatever major one person is, one should uplevel different skills such as soft skills throughout all life. And that wealth also include other aspects such as health, relations, kindness, ... So I made it through college without debt. Here is the actual problem. 1. Media and society changes the view point of the average person on given jobs. Like farming for example. People are pushed this is a nasty no no and farmers are dumb. But in reality, modern farmers tend to be extremely rich even today. Like the machines they use are more than an average house. They can't do their job without being rich. And farmers are far from dumb. 2. Economics is what makes slaves. Basically, you need food, water, shelter, and something for mental health like TV or whatever. Food alone, look at the price changes. This is what makes people slaves to the system. Like A LOT of people work just to cover the basics For those wondering how I did it. In short, take your time, pell grant, and vocational rehab. My biggest problem with this video is he flat out lies. He flat out pushes that if you do hustle culture or teach yourself to make your own business. Then it 100% will work out and everything is rainbows. Here is the facts, no every idea is a money maker. And sadly, there is NO WAY TO TELL until you are already way deep into it. For example, I tried 3D printing, laser, and CNC. While now and then i still get orders for 3D print stuff. Thanks due to * The economy where no one can afford anything anymore * The machines 5 year after are so cheap because a lot of the open source stuff and other things are stolen from 1 company to another where a number of 3D companies are getting together to figure out this problem * and so on It never took off. Like I didn't know there was no demand for laser/CNC stuff on anything but a high end deal. I tried inventing. I even talked to a number of companies and spent money on PPA and so on. I found no success into it. **THE KEY FACTOR MOST FORGET IS YOU NEED LUCK** Without it, nothing will work out.

You said it so well. When I was younger, I had this same belief. The school has quite a bit of outdated methods, almost like the assembly lines seen in past manufacturing. But, there is still some benefit to college. It still gets your foot in many doors. A solid education in the right subject domain is no guarantee, but it can give you better prospects in the job market. It's true, you can learn on your own, I did, but I also skipped a lot of fundamentals as a developer I should have learned had I followed a regimented curriculum, I didn't realize this until I went back to school.
