The movie is amazing, not gonna lie...the first time I was just thinking about fassbender being naked and doing the "nasty", but the movie is actually fucking sad and the sexual scenes are not hot at all, everything from the start of the movie feels so miserable, is a dark movie and I am glad you have the chance to ask this person for his opinion, i think this movie did a great job on the matter.

I have seen quite a few of your videos and I've gotta say? It's by far my favorite. Delving into wether the portrayal of a psychosis in a film is in fact correct and asking a professional to break down several aspects of it and the over all film is phenomenal. It is also very unique! I wish there were more videos out there like this. I can't wait to see more of these come up! You've cemented me as a subscriber and a loyal watcher. You did an amazing job.

Great series idea! This is the type of content that I would bingewatch 100%, togheter with your "explained" series. However some polishing needs to be done in order to let this diamond shine bright. - The intro with the motorcycle is intresting and captivating, but 1 minute is too long. - A set where you could film this in would be nice, but that's asking much.- Editing was spot on. Your style fits these kind of videos really nicely. Thanks for making these!

The question of whether the film presents an accurate depiction of sex addiction is a non starter in that the film is clearly not about sex addiction, but about a man's compulsive life as he unconsciously and self-destructively attempts to resolve his inner conflicts, i.e. shame. Sex addiction is one aspect of his sexually compulsive behavior, which in turn is one aspect of his larger complex. In my mind mcqueens genius is that he doesn't dumb down the nature of that inner conflict by flogging a reductive and simplified view on the above idea. Not easy to do considering the narrative centric drivers dominating the art form

One thing that I perceived differently, I think that Brandon always knew that Sissy was seriously depressed and suicidal. The climax was just him opening up because he was at his lowest, therefore the things he had been neglecting once again came back into his world. It's a far more interesting interpretation, and it also fits the story much better.

This really was an amazing movie, interesting to see an experts opinion on its accuracy, I think showing clips rather than having him watch it in whole doesnt give the correct story however. His actions, like dating the normal black girl and their conversation/date, need the context of what precedes it for it to make more sense. More so what happens after the date. Still a great watch, I enjoyed his opinion. Maybe im incorrect and he saw it all, its just cut and explained in such a way for us viewers. BTW if you plan to watch shame you might want to make sure you do so in the correct setting. Your parents or a first date might make for some uncomfortable moments.
@FilmHerald6 жыл бұрын
Yeah the clips I showed the audience are not the totality of what I showed him, and furthermore he had already seen it so it was more of a refresher. One of the questions I asked him did involve what happened after the date, but I couldn't think of a way to compress that scene down for viewers who hadn't seen the film so I left it out. Additionally as you probably know it required so much blurring that there was nothing I could show on KZbin anyways.

Sexual addiction is when a person feels irresistibly compelled to have some kind of sex encounter, even when it is a danger to their health, their life, their body, their career, their family, which is literally the same as the definition of alcohol addiction: if it's causing problems and you feel unable to stop, it's addiction.
