Adam’s intensity was used perfectly on SNL. The writers did such a great job creating material so well suited for him that he absolutely excelled at it. He needs to be on every year.

I think what makes Adam Driver's acting in this sketch work is, other than the fact he's an excellent actor, he's playing it completely straight; not for the laughs. Paradoxically, it makes it hilarious.
