this song's music and lyrics is a masterpiece, well done.

My favorite thing about it is that it's a song about a rather famous parable. The characters are different in each retelling, but the theme and situation is the same. Two animals, one of them always being a scorpion but sometimes the other is either a rat, or a dog or some other animal, are at a river that they have to cross. The scorpion asks for safe passage across, and the other animal responds "are you crazy? You'll sting me! I'm not taking you across!" and the Scorpion begs and pleads, promising to not sting. Eventually, the other animal relents and lets the scorpion onto its back and begins to cross. Sure enough, not even halfway across the river, the scorpion stings the other animal. "You fool! You've killed us both!!" the other animal cries, as they both drown. To which the scorpion responds "I am a scorpion; I cannot go against my nature."

not really the song is about betrayal due to a persons dirty personality. the scorpion would rather drown than co operate with the frog carrying it across the river
@SHAX5167 жыл бұрын
thats how the story goes,the scorpion talks the frog all polite and humble like -the frog asks him to promise not to sting and the scorpion agrees. they get over and then this song.

This song reminds me of Obama? No Dance in the Rain and Youthanasia remind me of Obama. This reminds me of us helping out Afghanistan and Iraq from the Soviet Union and then they later sting us. Obama is more than a lonely scorpion, he's a tyrant. If you asked the founding fathers all of them would agree.
@iceangelfire64269 жыл бұрын
Except none of these songs target Obama. While Dave has criticized him for his decisions, those songs mentioned had to do with the state of the government at the time. (Mid 90s; mid 00s)
@Ih8fails4goodreason9 жыл бұрын
iceangelfire64 Key term here "Reminds me of" No I know what Dave was referring to, but just like then shit like that is happening now. If you think about it... American times have just kept getting worse. The system is even worse now than it was then... And yet we're in "peace" time. For example, just recently the Supreme Court ruled that gay marriage was legal. I'm not pro or against gay marriage but the fact that the Supreme Court did that even though 14 states were against it isn't how the country is supposed to work. First laws go through the state and if they can't solve them there it goes to the Supreme Court. The states powers are being stolen from them. Oh here is a fun fact; Obama didn't support gay marriage 8 years ago now he's very pro gay marriage. That tells you he doesn't care either way he just wanted votes. That's all they ever want is votes. They'll say they support something like abortion and then later when they get into office they'll do whatever the hell they want. All they want is power and they get that by people's votes. Politicians don't really support what they say they do. They support themselves and what they want. God knows what that is... Honesty doesn't get you into presidency. The media is also a bunch of liars. MSNBC will give you only the facts that support their liberal opinions, and FOX will only give you the facts that support their conservative opinions but I do know FOX is somewhat more truthful but if you believe what you see people say on TV you are as blind as a bat to reality. For example if you haven't noticed Obama's speeches are the same. He's like a broken record. Everything he said he was going to do when he was elected was the exact same thing he said he was going to do when he was trying to get re-elected. Bush was a saint compared to that guy. >:C Bill Clinton did better and he was like a Hugh Hefner of the White House. Like WTF? I also hate those pretentious assholes who quote former presidents and then do everything those presidents said not to do and completely go against them. (that's the majority of politicians) It's bullshit. The system has failed. Or is it, that the people have failed the system. God if Hilary gets elected next we're fucked and look at how much she's lied already. Or just ignore it and believe everything she says like a cute little sheep for the slaughter. Is it ignorance or innocence I have no idea what is with the American people. Socialists are even more ignorant if they want the U.S to be a socialist state because it never will be. It's too powerful of nation. If the government had that much power it would go rogue into more like a communist or dictatorship. And if you think comparing China and the U.S proves anything you're even more foolish than I thought. And what the hell is with this Jeb Bush... If the people of the U.S keep believing what these politicians promise them we're already fucked. If you still believe in Obama you're really, really foolish. It doesn't take 8 years to fulfill promises especially since when he was first elected he had the House and Senate. Sorry for getting way into this it's just that when I heard the Supreme Court did that it really ticked me off. If democracy wasn't dead then it's either on it's last breathe now or dead. >:C
