Regal makes it a No DQ match and after one of them wins, Regal says this “Congratulations, sunshine. That is a well deserved victory! A match for the ages and thus, you shall have your match against me…tonight!” The winner is probably banged up after the previous match and Regal, ever the conniving villain, takes him out and wins the match easily

Finally someone talks about regal in ‘08. I thought I was the only who felt like he could’ve been a big deal. I remember as a kid I saw him as a ring general that is someone to fear. I honestly saw him feuding him with Cana.

William Regal as World Champion and Raw GM would be a blast. He could sporadically defend his title a la Brock Lesnar during his WWE and Universal Championship reigns and he could force Superstars to compete in a WWE Championship contender’s match and then, he easily wins by booking an impromptu title match and just when he’s about to lose the match, he can make an impromptu No DQ match and cheat to win William Regal as World Champion/ Raw GM would be truly a riot, something that Triple H dreams to be and somehow accomplished in 2016 when he won the WWE title while being the head honcho of The Authority

Regal was a great Technical wrestler and was never boring he also helped Daniel Bryan in his training. He had a great series of Matches with Ric Flair in WCW in the early 90's and had some with Daniel Bryan. Daniel Bryan faced Regal on WWE Superstar and played a Joke on him as Regal Came to the Ring his old "He's a Man's Man" song played" which suprised Regal and he smiled at Daniel Bryan.

I'd say the most unfortunate scratched push of the 2000s was MVP (coincidentally that was also in 2008). He was primed to be a great main event heel, but apparently the reason they never gave him the big belt was his criminal past, which even at the time was ages ago. Still, the fact that this Regal push never happened was tragic, that man was just so good in every aspect of the game

This version of Regal is awesome! He was like a power hungry monarch/dictator. I also like it that he was narcissistic and prone to exploding like in the production truck.😂 I love the fact that both heels and faces hated him, he was like a super heel.

This was my first gm ever. I started watching in 2008 and I hated Regal as a kid. When he cut raw off in the middle of the match I was like wtf this man is mad with power for real. “TAKE IT OFF THE BLOODY AIR!!!”

I rather enjoyed his push. But like so many others before him, one small mistake derailed something that would've been entertaining and really great. Oh what could have been.. if he had become champion, he could've used his name in a moniker to call himself "The Regal Champion".. I think that would've worked much better than JBL calling himself "a wrestling god", when he really wasn't.

Looking back it was a damn good push for Sr. William Regal. It’s a shame how it ended though because that was mega heat especially during those times with the things he was doing. Not sure if he would have been the one to dethrone Triple H but definitely could have been World Champion. Maybe he would have been the one to end Punk’s reign and not Jericho since it seemed like Vince only put it on Jericho at the time because of the heat he was gaining at the time

Good video bro. I forgot about this push especially everything Pre-Mania24. At least we got to see Regal team up with Layla and he got a IC Title run out of it. I do think he would have become world champ. He probably would have been the one to dethrone Punk in the scramble match at Unforgiven ‘08, in my opinion.

Another predictable blunder from the Ruthless Aggression/Post-Attitude Era for the WWF/E. Unless they had WCW's amazing technical wrestlers breathing down their necks during the height of the Wars, the WWE always would always get predictably lazy. You basically have the go to AEW now to get a decent push if you're any good and that's not saying much. Even TNA when it was going well was putting on programming at least on par with WWE. WWE just has a lot of money for special effects and production value. The actual quality of the content itself is horrible. I feel so sorry for Alexis Kaufman. That gimmick is like something out of a kids' horror movie that would have been considered cheesy when Paul Levesque was in diapers. Apparently very little has changed in that respect. WWE seems to be defecating on their own product a lot in the last 2 decades.
