They were amazing live, never heard of them and then seen them support Thunder in Plymouth and the next day went to Rival Records and bought Tear Of Thought on cassette, to this day one of my top albums……….

the Jets played AWESOME live and in the studio, you couldn't tell the difference really!!! but why does the little, long haired (mullet style) gnome, in his cut off shorts and footy socks, looks as though he is almost going to shit himself, when he attempts to pull off a guitar solo....I'm baffled man???? great music through

I think you're referring to Grant Walmsley, the guitarist on the left? He is a very capable player and songwriter. He's also capable of some excellent solos. What you may be noticing in this vid is that he's wearing that 12 pound Les Paul (LP Customs are all-mahogany and quite heavy) a little too low for comfort. A lot of guys sling the guitars low because it looks cool. Doesn't make for easy playing, though, regardless of how Jimmy Page or Slash did it. Peace.

@@chriscampbell9191 not sure what u call capable. He is very average try hard guitarists (nothing against bloke I ve meet the guy. Best thing for jets was him being replaced by Scott kinsman. Suited band much better

@@nenaddzananovic6624 Scott Kingman's a great player, but when I said 'capable', it meant more than just the guitar playing. There's more to filling a spot in a band than just guitar pyrotechnics, which was my point. I don't think Scott's written anything to match Better, Realise, Blue Sashes, Sad Song, Higher With You, or any of the other excellent tracks Grant wrote. Grant was a vital part of the band, and losing him took a bit more out of the band then when Richard Lara left, Izzy left, or either of the early drummers left. I'm glad the band are still carrying on, but I think the Jets with Grant, Dave, and Paul as songwriters were a world class rock act that deserved more overseas success than they received.
