Obviously don't no ur age and I'd never ask a woman her age either, But I'm 46 and I got to know Christy a little bit like so many he had time for all his fans but I went to loads of there small gigs like the ones they did in Saint's out in Howth and he put the same energy into those gigs as he did the ones in vicar st or there New yrs eve concerts in the Point.. I had similar struggles as Chisty and I took so much inspiration from him so what I'm trying to say is he helped me and other's to get on track.. Now I don't say things like that lightly especially about singers it's real American but I make an exception for Chrsty.. He was the biggest battler I've ever known but still gave us his fans so much of his life.. It's mad I was watching the vicar street concert and reading some comments and people from other countries saying how they've never heard of this band and saying how good the frontman is.. Little do they no. It's a shame the rest of the world didn't get to know and see them but the good thing about that is he was ours.. A one off that we'll never see again last of a generation. I’m going to get sentimental now. I came across this song many years ago now one late night on my way home in a taxi in Dublin. I had just recently moved my young family over to Ireland from Australia so they could to get to know their Great Uncle and cousins better. This song became (at the time) my 18 mth old daughter's regular bedtime song. I played this for her (15 now) just the the other night and she remembered me nursing her, half asleep, with her head on my chest both of us sitting on the lounge by the fireplace while the song played on in the background. A lovely memory for both of us to have.  This is a lovely live cover version by The Script with Christy. What an underrated band Aslan were/are in my opinion. He still has a great voice too.

This song has never been so poignant as it is during the Coronavirus.
