Für mich warst Du schon immer der beste Drummer nördlich des Südpols. Ich kenne sonst keinen Drummer, der das Schlagzeug als Instrument spielt. Die meisten schlagen einfach den Takt und das war´s. Bei Dir sind es Kompositionen. Das hab ich schon immer gesagt und so wird´s wohl auch bleiben. Rock on!

@@ThomenDrumChamber, Dein Spiel hat wirklich maßgeblich zur Qualität von Blind Guardian beigetragen. Meine Meinung ist, dass der Abstieg mit der Nightfall langsam losging. Der Sound knallte da schon nicht mehr so genial. Ich denke, mit der Meinung stehe ich auch nicht alleine da. Aber seit Deinem Ausstieg sind die Sachen von B.G. für mich ziemlich uninteressant geworden. Da war Savage Circus damals echt ein Seelenbalsam. Und Mentalist ist eh killermäßig.... Ich hoffe, Du machst noch lange, lange weiter...

THANKS FOR THIS!!! i can't believe i found this video and your channel. i got to tell you a story. when i was 14 years old, i used to play this record on my discman with speakers until i fell asleep... but every time this song started, i had to get out of bed, sit in a chair and start air drumming jajajaj i couldn't stop doing this every night. i even played it on the school table and used the floor as a bass drum. the teachers used to get mad, but they couldn't understand what the fuck i was doin'... and why... specially the chorus part (03:03). i really love that part. well, the other part of story is that i'm a guitar player and i was so obsessed with the drums in this song that i wanted to sell my guitar to buy a drum kit with double bass. i lived in an apartment, so it was impossible :( thanks again for recording this video and sharing it with us. This is just hilarious ! I've tried to play to the album version of this song and I just can't keep it up. Even Thomen seems to realize that it's quite exhausting, looking at him sticking his tongue out in the middle of the song. But still it's awesome, I'm so glad you put up this channel Thomen. I've been following Blind Guardian since 1995 and actually you are the reason I started playing drums 25 years ago, your drumming always inspired me, up until today. Finally I can watch detailed Blind Guardian Drum paythroughs, by the master himself. I never realised how much stuff you actually do in these songs, before seeing it for myself. It's pure fucking awesomeness! How about doing a playthrough of "I'm alive" ? I know it's much I ask, for this 190ish bpm orgy, but it would make my day :) .
