I think the clunky date window on the larger version is a consequence of the size of the date wheel of this movement. The same reason there's no small seconds version of the smaller version. In both instances, Seagull is making one calibre serve for both sizes, with the consequent design compromises.

I have the smaller. It's a great size for me (6.25 inch wrist). The only real flaws for me are the very basic strap, and I would prefer a small seconds like the Nomos. Sea-Gull do offer a mechanical 40mm with small seconds, but not a small size.

For me the smaller one is better, the proportions just work. I've a few small vintage watches and with the slim bezel you get a dial pretty comparable with a Seiko 5 and dont look small on the wrist but wear very well. I bought a similar Carnival in 40mm for about £60 with a cheaper sea-gull inside to see what this style is like on the wrist. Nice but seems larger than a 42mm diver although much slimmer.

Great review, thanks. I've had this in my cart for 2yrs now never been able to pull the trigger. I love the look and the movement is great (tired of all the NH 35 models) is nice to have a high beat movement. I'm not sure i would actually wear but i'm a sucker for white dial watches..

I bought the "women" 34mm version. Very very beautiful watch. Finishing is top. Keeps time perfectly. Bauhaus Entwurf pur. I mean, Bauhaus is a design style, no brand name. The strap is not premium, but simple and decent. Bauhaus stands for functionality after all. What to expect more for this price? You can't do anything wrong with this watch. So sophisticated.

Like the Stowa Antea, this watch is exceptionally elegant. I like the 34 mm model much better and this size also fits my wrist better; the 35.5 mm version by Stowa is a bit too big for me. I guess I'll have to order this watch too. 😊

3:04 they don't need to add branding to movement as Seagull makes those movements in-house. It is ver nice watch bauchaus style, there is manual wind version but I don't think I've seen review on YT.

These were designed by professional watch designers, you'd expect. The fact that they did not see the major design flaw that is this awful punch hole mutilating the 6 o'clock marker calls this into question.

@@garmin1488 No problem with the case size on my wrist. But the dial is relatively big, so it gives more wrist presence. Probably looks bigger on camera as well.
