Coming off their 42-29 loss in Detroit on Monday Night Football, the Seattle Seahawks are 3-1 and in first place in the NFC west division. But there's still SO MUCH we don't know about this team in their first season under first-year head coach Mike Macdonald.
Dayna O'Gorman from Our Turf and Real Hawk Talk joins me today to assess where this team is after the first "quarter" of a season, and how equipped they may be to face a much tougher stretch of upcoming opponents.

Injuries are usually not an excuse (except at qb) but our situation is unique. I can’t recall the team being so decimated in one group I don’t know if we would have won but having even a couple of our injured players back would have made a huge difference

The first three games showed we have good depth. No team can replace 5 of the 7 d linemen and play at the same level.

The lions were a huge test for a banged up defense and they are gonna get another huge test oct 10th 6 weeks into the season thats a huge task considering we had one of the worst defense in the league last yr , tbh its a great learning experience for our guys early i the season, mike will use it when it counts later if we get in the playoffs, go hawks 👍 😀

I agree with some of her opinions, but this is Mikes first yr and no matter how you put it, there were too many injuries on our def. Yeah, everybody has injuries, but not that many on one side of the ball.

We lost the turnover battle which to me is critical. We also forgot that we weren’t just playing the lions, so also needed to overcome a couple of questionable calls by the refs, which is not unusual when you are the road team.

Love Dayna as a guest and how well you two play off each other. And as much as I hate to hear it, I do agree with much of her critique of the defense. I would bet that, as a man who knows, designs and coaches defense as well or better than anyone out there, watching that game play out was uncomfortable at best. Getting healthy will help a lot, and another year or two to upgrade a few positions AND build the depth to be better able to get through a wave of injuries without a huge drop-off in performance will make a huge difference. Detroit sucked for several years and stockpiled a lot of high draft picks (that they used wisely for the most part) to build the roster they have.
