My heart hurts for Bright Eyes and Sadie. My dog is the same way as she acts so punished when on a leash. Off leash, she is on my heels. I guess it the risk we take to give them a good life, and others want to intervene, which is what I truly believe happened.

I think there is something to be said for giving our loved fur baby's some freedom. yes, we have to look out for them but that is physically and mentally. They have personalities ,mannerisms, the desire to please, the desire to assert themselves. The are sentient beings.

If I’m hiking in areas my dog has never been to before, she is always on a leash. I won’t leave it to chance. This prevents the worst case scenario which is what is happening to Sadie and her owner 😞 I pray she finds Sadie. Sadie looks like she is an older dog. .. for new or unaware owners the inconvenience of using a leash prevents this very sad and tragic situation. Obey leash laws and when in doubt don’t leave it to chance. ❤

So Bright Eyes mentioned her reasoning for not leashing Sadie 24/7. Sadie was more than a pet and she wanted to allow her some freedom when appropriate. Hopefully ou8 got that out of the 3 video's. You do make some fair points. Where required she always had her leashed and where her safety might be at risk. But in this case she was alone on a easy stretch. I'm fine with here reasoning, but you do make some fair points.

The minute the hiker noticed their off-leash dog was missing they started calling her name, with no response. If you want to find the dog, go back to where she went missing. She's probably not far from the spot the hiker first noticed her gone..

I am a Lost Pet Professional and I worked with Micki on this dog- every inch of the area around where she first went missing was grid searched many times......and that area is heavily flyer'd - there was also an extensive infrared Drone search done of that area. And a search dog was also used in that area. No stone was left unturned- then she was later seen south on the trail by other hikers.

It’s not too late to get a K9 tracker team on it. Have them start where she last saw Sadie. They are miracle workers even months later. The sooner the better though.

Tried that twice. First time they got a hit but Epic refused to go into the woods to follow the trail. 10 days later she. Ame back.amd no scent l.

Could it be possible that Sadie may have found her way into the home of an elderly person who does not do any type of internet or social media. Has there been any broadcast by local TV news or radio stations about the search for her?

Yep local news on TV and newspapers. Flyers put up at local gas stations, vets etc.

Sad story for sure. To me, what seems most likely, is soon after she got off trail, something happened, snake bite, bear, bobcat. That's what the barking and howling was about. The reports of a hiker found/adopted her just doesn't seem likely with all the chatter about the lost dog. Good for you ramdino for helping out. Anyway hope i'm wrong and she is found soon

Is a drone with an attached iPhone flown in a pattern over the area she was lost something that would ping the AirTag? I’ve seen search drones that have a set pattern they fly over to cover an area.

This story reminds me of the Stella Hikes dog abduction last year. I was truly irate when it happened and tried to explain to people what was happening! It seemed nobody understood my point of view with that situation. Hiker takes dog found on trail and claims as their own and goes over state lines until it slows her down and dumps dog with people who find it new home. NO! You don’t do that! People need to leave dogs alone, or take to closest authorities where dog found. Those animals belong to someone!

Unfortunately, I live in Colorado and can not go out and help search for Sadie, but I do have a couple questions that I would have if I could. Ramdino, you had mentioned in one video that Sadie has a chip or something similar that can hit your phone's bluetooth(?) and signal Bright Eyes? Do I have that right? Can you give some details on that device and how it can help find her? And if it is a chip inserted under her skin or such, does it continue working if Sadie (sorry to mention this) if she dies? Maybe that information can encourage people to help passively when they can not be out looking.

She has a sub cue chip that a shelter or vet would read but she had an apple tag that would trigger off of blue tooth. That could have easily been removed amd thrown away.

The dog is 91 yrs old maybe he's too old to go hiking even though he had a small backpack. My self, I wouldn't take a 91 yrs old dog hiking.

That’s such an overgeneralization it’s not even funny. The whole 1 year is 7 dog years is bs to begin with… I’ve known 4 year old dogs that were decrepit and 15 year old dogs that were in the prime of health.
