The empathy you display for every facet of each character is something a lot of people could learn from. Being able to see WHY morally grey characters make the decisions they do and how it puts them on a path of conflict with loved ones, shows how you think deeply about their motivations

One of my favourite things about the parallel scenes where Jayce and Viktor interrupt each other's suicide attempts is the fact that in both cases, they don't discuss what was just stopped at all. Viktor and Jayce are both clearly aware of what they were interrupting but instead they tiptoe around the issue in a way that feels so realistic and honest.
@ClaudieTV11 күн бұрын
Yes that's very true! They're both not stupid. They know exactly what they stopped. 100%

I also love the double meaning of "is there anything so undoing as a daughter?". Silco clearly means that his love for Jinx has weakened him so much that he feels unable to accept something he has spent his whole life trying to achieve, while Jinx seems to hear it as him saying that he was planning to abandon her for his dreams since she means trouble for him.
@Krusesensei10 күн бұрын
Also, in my opinion, when Victor disarm Jinx Bomb, there was a moment of a suicide Idea Followed by Victors "there is Everytime a choice!!" Suicide and choices (and purpose. And belonging to smbdy) are big topics of this show.

Silco tries to kill Vi because she is hurting Jinx. Her intentions are good, but every name she yells, while happy memories for Vi they are the demons that haunt jinx. Silco knows this. He knows her far better at this point than Vi. Its why he yells at jinx not to listen to her. IMO

So right. To remember: Vander was jinx dad for ~2-3 years. silco for ~10 ...
@mathies35989 күн бұрын
Its just ironic that yes he knows this... but he always fails to admit his own fault in it. He is the one who's primarily to blame for their deaths, and he did it on purpose, and he's never ever said sorry for it. He's got no right to do what he thinks is best for Jinx in situations such as this IMO Silco is a VERY hypocritical character for me cuz he refuses to acknowledge the hurt he put Jinx through. And he says to Vanders statue that he understands him now, he understands whats it like to have to choose between the dream of Zaun and family, yet he still continues to try to convince jinx that vander and Vi will always betray them and "they will never understand"

Also you should react to 'Bridging the rift' a 5 part documentery on the creation of Arcane, it's a fantastic watch they really go into all that goes on behind the scenes, the voice acting, the writing, the music, the sound effects, all the struggles they had getting it made plus it's very fun and quite emotional especially the last part. Maybe S1 was the pinnacle of TV show writing, S2 went for some cheap tearjerky and a number of fan services. As a fan I enjoyed being serviced but the writing had far more shortcomings. All of a sudden it felt much more like one needed Arcane (haha) background knowledge, character development pacing seemed off at times and some plot events did't feel natural but rather pt there to instigate maximised viewer emotion and/or create repetition for repetitions sake. I still simp-love it but oh what could have been.

yeah i actually think you should react to Bridging the rift before season 2 (the making of), it's very high quality and entertaining and you learn a lot about the background of the people that created the show and the character's stories and motives, the music, the voice actors, etc. about the game: Arcane is canon lore of League of legends, so it is literally based on the game at this point in time. the character's roles and personalities (Vi is a tough fighter, Jinx is a chaotic shooter, etc.), the weapons all belong to pre established game lore, like Jinx's shark bazooka or Vi's gloves, etc. however, it's been added in a very subtle way without distracting the audience from the story. about the game's lore and cinematics. they are very good and fun to watch, but they won't add too much to the Arcane experience imo, besides from interesting character background and concept art/music done by Riot. i think these would be good "music reactions", from the Worlds championships concerts that they organize, to fake Kpop groups, and more. I enjoyed your reactions, keep it up 😸❤

I think one of the truly tragic aspects of Silco is that he clearly admired Vander and loved him very much. But according to his definition of power he had to destroy him and empower people like the Chem-Barons he hates, because those are the people he can control far more easily. He lives very much in self-inflicted loneliness,

I love Silco talking to Vander’s statue. He was so frustrated with Vander in episode 3 for seemingly no longer being willing to fight for the undercity. But Vander’s priorities shifted as soon as he became a father. So when Silco gets everything he wants offered to him in exchange for Jinx he feels like he finally understands where Vander was coming from. Silco’s priority has likewise shifted to his daughter. I know some doubt whether he was truly unwilling to hand Jinx over (including Jinx herself), but I think this makes it clear he wouldn’t have.

Yes that scene really sticks in my mind for some reason. It's the first time we see Silco actually sort of 'come undone' when there's no one around. It mimics, Jix talking to the empty chair

I must thank you a thousand times! Thanks to your reactions and your analyses, I have just understood something that had escaped me for 3 years (during which I saw this season 1 a good twenty times): yes, there are bigger fish than Silco in Zaun, there is Jinx. Jinx is a character of such complexity that she fascinates and frightens us at the same time. I believe, I am absolutely certain, that the writers of Arcane (Amanda Overton in particular) and the immense artists of Fortiche have created a myth. Jinx will enter the pantheon of modern mythological characters at the same rank, or even higher, than Frankenstein, Cyrano, Dracula, Don Quijote, Ulysses (James Joyce), etc.
