Dari’s comments on Arnold were totally SPOT ON. JA is mentally shot and he needs to enter the portal because OU has become his personal house of horrors.
@shadowone551912 күн бұрын
I watch this and I feel we failed Arnold. Yes it has yet to be seen what his true talent is but with all our problems it is obvious he is not comfortable in the situation he is in as Dari said. Dari also brought up about whether Arnold has anyone he can go to on the staff after a bad game to help build his confidence and I bet the answer is no. Lebby left and then Seth comes off as completely uninspiring and OU didn’t hire a good QB coach that is young and inspiring. No matter what is said about his talent, OU has failed Arnold. His confidence is gone

He has some Derek Carr syndrome definitely. But it’s can be changed if we get right oc and qb coach. We need a qb coach that will improve them fundamentally and oc that can hide the weaknesses on qb and oline. The oc needs too improve his strengths and build on that give him wins and build confidence. Same with Haskins. It feels like Jackson has not progressed but regressed. I want Mangino and Cale to come back. Times have changed and I know Mangino is retired but he knew football and best vs top top 10 teams. Also, with the the election and death of being woke both should come back with stigma being changed now. It will change with right higher at oc and qb coach. Coach bv is right man for job and I think I was completely wrong when I wanted gone as def cord under stoops. I think he should been given more responsibility not less. Coach will stay and great things will happen. Stay strong. Bring back Blake too d line and recruiting. He was great or don’t let him recruit without supervision. Still great coach. Everyone needs 2nd chances. If Lincoln is available after season I would say go after him. He might do a chip kelly. Ou fans need to realize that he was great as oc and qb coach and getting QBs to come here.

Dari is the best. His response re his confidence in BV says it all. 26:21 “From a coaching level it remains to be seen…A lot of it is I want him to succeed.” Bingo. This is the head COACHING position at the University of Oklahoma. Separate the man from the head coach. He’s had three seasons to learn the job - he hasn’t. BV has told us who he is as a HC on the field - heading toward 2 losing seasons out of 3, 0 bowl wins, 1-11 vs Top 25 - listen to him! This is not being a reactionary fan base, it’s separating the hope that he’ll be a good HC from the reality that he just isn’t. It’s sad but true.

If BV can claw his way out of the Bama and LSU games without people losing their minds it will be a bit more downhill. The Missouri game tested a lot people's sanity. The Bama game will break a lot of people's sanity. If he can manage to lose those games by less than 3 TDs, the only people calling for his job will still just be the fans. If OU gets routed in both games, then Harroz and Joe C. will have some difficult decisions in front of them.

Great show guys. I hope other Sooners fans took notes from Dari's comments. There is/was a reality many fans weren't prepared for. The 12 yr old analogy made sense to me. I'm a Sooner fan that lives near the Ga/'Bama state lines, I've heard those conversations. OU can't compete against the "Big Boys" each week. Even if everyone was healthy, OU would still have struggles. I choose to BREATHE and continue to trust this process.

Brent is not doing a bad job. We have a sinfully terrible offense. At bad schools around the country they are playing better offense. If we simply played better on the OL, maintained the WR room health, and played and efficient QB who doesn’t turn it over often, this team is ranked and would have won games against Tennessee and Missouri, in my opinion. It would look completely different. I do think this product is within reach in 1-2 years but it is probably without JA at QB. Either Hawkins gets better or we snag someone from somewhere else.

Jackson arnold's problem is he doesn't trust the offensive line. Therefore he doesn't keep his eyes down the field but quickly checks back to the rush.

I couldn't be much more frustrated with this season but we don't need to burn it down yet. What they must do is hire the right guy as a head coach for the offensive side of the ball. Brent is clearly not well versed in offensive football. He has to give the right guy complete control of the offense and let Brent worry about everything else.

Everytime Brent has gone with the old school retread hire it’s gone poorly. He’s had great success with young and talented coaches and this next hire should lean that direction.

It is truly amazing how many of y’all wanna keep a coach who has shown you exactly who he is just so you don’t have to go through a rebuild. The dude is in year 3 & your program is in worse shape than when he took over, even with the transfer portal. Your recruiting is absolutely stagnant. Literally in the bottom half of the conference & it’s gonna get worse. No OC in his right mind is gonna uproot his family knowing it’s pretty much a 1 year rental. Go back & research how much trouble TX had hiring an OC between 15 & 16. HC, AD, & Pres. had to take a private jet to beg a 3rd option to take the job because nobody wanted it. This is where y’all are under BV. Only gonna get worse as long as he’s HC.
@jaymccormack687511 күн бұрын
One thing about the oline. It depends on style of offense. You can be really competitive with a zone run offense and smaller oline that are fast and undersized with cut back backs and play action. I’m surprised we haven’t done that. Or tired that. Also, the sec is a cult. I’m not completely drinking the juice but Ou has dominated every conference they joined and the big 12 started offense bad for Ou but ended up the best. I also think the sec and big 10 even with the amount of teams will est each other up like what’s happening this year. It’s too much in the hands of the schedule for each team. I think the big 12 was wrong for letting Texas rule and all the other teams get away. They should have added other schools Florida school like ucf and maybe southern miss. Just for recruiting. I guess a&m was going to leave anyway and might leave sec for big 10 really. They don’t won’t Texas near them. But if they do I think ok state will come in if they get competitive. It’s odd how bad Oklahoma is doing now at both schools. Gundy is off the rails. I like him but damn he is cooked. Something broke there. Sorry I’m bored at a bar waiting for my truck to be fixed that should have been an hour ago.

Being on the big stage means nothing if you're on the big stage and getting knocked out every week. How many playoffs or SEC championships has it produced for Arkansas? For South Carolina? For Missouri? For A&M? Ark & SC have been trying it for over 30 years. Stop the dreaming and wake up.

Honestly if you want to hear my opinion. BV keeps hiring offensive coordinators that are not experienced. He's trying to keep it all in the family or he just doesn't know shit about offense. Or he'd scared of someone knowing more than him about football? He's a conf guy He better pick a OC that's worthy and stop thinking either feelings sm emotions.
