Even if you name a slam dunk HC hire, we have no idea if they will work out in the SEC and likely it won't in year 1 anyways. Secondly, do you guys really want year 2 in the SEC to be a total rebuild on both sides of the ball? The defense hasn't been elite but it is a good SEC defense and there is obviously room to improve. Next year's focus will be on the offense, and if it isn't improved at all then sure consider firing BV. I know this year sucks, but emotionally overreacting and firing the HC is not the play. @@dadestarmysteries255 well, i guess my point of view is i've watched ou since the late seventies. i make note of bob stoops' tenure and yes, we won alot of games. we won 1 national championship with most of john blakes recruits. after that. we never won a natty again. in fact our defenses began to stink. i remember as far back a 2008 thinking our defenses stink. i began to view ou like a texas tech with better players. i also noted that all these games we won in the big twelve were lower tier teams for the most part. so...if you like winning alot of games against weaker competition then lets go back to the big twelve. in my opinion brent venables inherited a declining team thanks to muleshoe and basically was handed a crap sandwich with our pants down in front of the nation by muleshoe's departure. then brent is thrown into the sec 1st year with arguably the toughest schedule in the nation, with a year long injury challenge never seen before. this is a rebuilding in my opinion. and clearly we have a real good defense and dudes moving in the right direction. our biggest challenge is THE OFFENSIVE LINE and getting some dudes there. that would definitely help these young quarter backs. again i believe it is the offensive line that has to be fixed. i think brent can get it done. again thats just my opinion.. going forward we better get used to 8-4 , 9-3 ,10-2 and good chances for conference championships and a natty..this is not the big 12. think of the teams we have played. missouri is no slouch, south carolina has dudes. ole miss is a great team. texas has dudes, tennesee has dudes. that is a tough run and we have alabama next and LSU.. we need to take this into consideration. you get rid of venables now and that defense is gone and you are starting all over again...

QB position is weak. O-line is weak. CBs are weak. Going to be tough next 2 seasons with or without BV.

Venables needs to be fired today. He let DG walk and fired Cale and hired ex players who are incompetent. Installed a loser culture making the players wear suits after the games? He is like Tom Herman. A total goof ball. Too emotional. And is not HC material. Joe C is fat and lazy and incompetent with his hiring decisions. He has wrecked football and mens basketball.

We are here. The dark era. Having to stomach another season of this regime makes me sick to my stomach.
