Ahhh finally. Highlight/beast is so underrated internationally nowadays. I hate cube for taking their name when they don’t renew their contracts. They’re so famous internationally as beast back then. I hope they can be known again since cube finally gave their beast name back.

Yoseop is my everything even though he is shortest. You should check out his solo songs such as Brain, Where I'm gone and Star.

I will try to answer all the questions I remember lol: 1. They now have the rights to all BEAST trademarks but they will remain promoting as Highlight. They are known by that for 7 years already, there is no point in changing for pure convenience probably. Especially since the name "Highlight" is still BEAST's legacy, Dongwoon suggested they will named themselves after last album they put out as BEAST, which is exactly "Highlight" (Ribbon was the title track of it) 2. Don't worry Yoseob is the shortest, in a recent TMI interview he finally admitted he's 168 cm 😂Gikwang is a bit above of 170 cm. You won't hide anything from the military doctors lol. 3. Dujun actually was supposed to be a "sub rapper" at the debut. He can rap. He just doesn't particularly like it I guess. In some older songs his parts resemble semi raps. But he doesn't take over the longer actual rap verses nowadays (from what I have seen). 4. On Rainy Days is a queen of bsides, it won few times on music shows without any MV to promote it, Korea loves it and it charts every time it's raining apparently. Midnight is another queen, but she actually has an MV but for Japanese version. it's one of my personal faves. 5. They indeed debuted in October 2009, and even tho Bad Girl sounds bright, Gikwang was lowkey half naked in the MV lmao, that whole MV is honesty a TRIP when it comes to wild wardrobe and hairstyles, 2009 hit them hard. 6. Pls forgive the "Highlight in the building" from Dongwoon, for a brief moment his wannabe rapper persona "MC Elephant" took over XD If you want variety show, Jessi's Showterview with them is a MUST. They were first full group to appear and caused an absolute chaos, Gikwang was literally beefing with Jessi, it was HILARIOUS.

Fun reaction, thanks! The last song you liked is Not the End, their first comeback after military, during COVID. The whole thing is gorgeous. Yes, Yoseob! The king of second gen vocalists. I think you’ll enjoy that first one with the long note, Breath. MV is full of over the top 2010 goodness. Yup, Gikwang is the main dancer. To continue your Gikwang education, you may want to check out his 2019 solo, Don’t Close Your Eyes (D.C.Y.E.). You won’t have any trouble keeping them open.😉

If you can’t fangirl on your own channel then where? 😁 So no need to worry about talking about gikwang we get it! He looks so good here and also almost drooled when I saw him with that platinum blond hair again on peak time 😅 Also if you wanna see more of him I recommend watching the Jae friends episode with him and yoseob (ep. 30 I think) it was delightful! On rainy days is such a beautiful song and also it has one of the most iconic moments with dongwoon's literal mic drop when they performed it on sketchbook.

I want more highlight(beast) reaction with forigners!!!! funny part 1:13 yoseop is tiny Hahaㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ yes, really he is. yoseop's height is 168.8cm. (+dujun 176cm, gikwang 172cm, dongwoon-the maknae 180cm) so, 17:51 the answer of your question, No, gikwang is not the shortest member. yoseop is.

I am also a second gen stan that wasn't there at the time hahahah and that's okay. I love A LOT of groups, but the most of them are from 2nd and 3rd gen. I knew Suju and Girls Genertion at 2009, and I feel so sad that i Dind't give kpop a chance. But it is still time. Thanks for your reaction, i love Highlight

It's okay to be late to the game. I became a kpop fan in late 2014- 2015. I was 10 or 11 back then. I started stanning 2nd and 3th gen. Since my older sisters were K-pop fans since 2009, I felt that I came late to the show at first. But since I stanned Shinhwa (1ST gen) in 2016, I was like who cares if I am late, I am a fan and that's what matters.

They debuted as beast in 2009 though? As far as I know most people regard that as second gen still? 3rd gen starts either in 2012 or 2013 depending on who you ask. Unless you mean AS HIGHLIGHT, but realistically we do have to treat them as 2nd gen idols even though they may be TECHNICALLY a 3rd gen group because that's when they were trained and who we would have to compare them to. 3rd gen are hardly their peers

@@leeneritgirl where are you pulling these years from? Tvxq are generally agreed to be 2nd gen and they deputed in 03 and also trainee systems absolutely existed before 2005… these generation dividing things are absolutely lines drawn in sand and especially the periods between 1st and 2nd gen and 2nd and 3rd gen are kinda shaky and you can even see terms like 1.5 gen and 2.5 gen thrown around.
