A word of advice from someone who cuts lawns sometimes. when on a tractor like those and you end up at the end of a point, instead of backing up with multiple point turns, you keep going forward a few feet and turn the >opposite< way you want to go. loop, and you will come lined up on the peak of the point perfectly every single time.

The strategies for mowing lawns. Remember the three M’s. Mow high. Mow often. Mow different. Mow at higher heights to keep the grass healthy. Mow often to keep the grass in check. Mow different patterns so the grass doesn’t get worn down. Make full passes and alternate stripes so that the pattern really shows. Do a perimeter first and then keep a consistent pattern and go around obstacles but keep the pattern in tact

Lmao SMITTY I have some tips for you. At 14:00 you talk about the “science” behind cutting a lawn. Go around the property TWICE, and then start working from one side to the other, making stripes. In a riding mower, never do stripes, just do circles. This is my 3rd year mowing and I use a walk behind mower (Gravely Pro-Walk 48” Belt Drive). The science is mostly in the knowledge in what you are doing rather than just doing it. I know this video is over a year old, but I would love to see more of Lawn Mowing Simulator!

So, most riding mowers have options for a roller bar. Which rolls the grass over and gets the nice light green and dark green. Most places go back and forth depending on how the sun hits it for maximum play on the light and blades of grass. You need nice, thick, real grass for that. The lower you cut with that grass, the more likely you are to burn it. Which means you're going to yellow it out because its getting cut to short.

Smii7y as someone who use to work as a Grounds Keeper I'd advise when you get up to something like a tree or flowers that you cut 1 row around the entire thing first that way you don't have to keep cutting close to it.

As a former landscaper, this is far from accurate since you're apparently able to drive on the flower beds. Not to mention, a major part of mowing lawns is weedwhacking the edges of gardens and flower beds as well as shoveling out the edges to those beds. And let me tell you, weedwacking is where I feel satisfied. More so than mowing because you get down and dirty, your pants turn green as the grass is thrown back at you, your legs eventually become numb from all the little rocks and sticks and grass being spit at you, and the smell of the grass crying out in pain as it bleeds out, especially after a fresh rain when the grass is still wet with dew is just something else! (LOL, yes, the smell of fresh cut grass is actually been theorised, if not proven, to be the warning signal to small critters that live in tall grass and other plantlife that there's a predator about. And the green goo that comes out of the plants is the plant's lifeblood. Sure, that lifeblood is called something else that I forget at the moment, but it's their equivalent of our, human and/or Lizard-people blood.)
