People who don't watch the feeds don't understand the height of Kyle's rhetoric & microagressions. Yeah, but the only reason production revealed the reasons behind Kyle's eviction is that they were forced to. It was the talk of the town bc Michael and Brittney exposed him. Production was not and is still very unhappy about it which is evident by the edit they are giving M & B for "their timing". Yes, the timing was unfortunate but to harp on this when we have Kyle who was being racist for weeks, something the editors also sat on, is suspect to me at best. And like you guys pointed out, the revelation centered around Kyle being the poor guy who is simply uneducated whereas the poc had to carry the burden of being very understanding about it. And meanwhile M & B got villified for doing the right thing, albeit very late but imo better late than never. Production seems very upset with the fact that they lost their golden boy, a racist. What are we to make of that?
@terriclark17542 жыл бұрын
The reason production exposed Kyle is because #KKKyle and #stopprotectingkyle had been trending on Twitter for a couple weeks & the story was being picked up by publications like TV Guide. The noise was so loud they had to include it in the show edit. Yet, you’re right that they def gave him a very gracious, kumbaya, edit, while painting M/B more villainous. IMO - he deserved more heat, though I appreciate the grace Taylor, Terrance, and Monte showed when they didn’t need to. The feeds were down for HOURS that day so I’ll be interested to hear if more comes out post-show since they were very obviously protecting Kyle.

totally agree with Hannah about the edit - so many people support Kyle because they thought he only once brought up the idea of a cookout 2, and that he is getting a bad deal. Kyle did more than suggest an idea. And the show never really focused on how that "idea" is wrong. I feel like most TV watchers support/ feel for Kyle, and do not see a flaw in his actions. (And Monte had such a clear and moving way of describing the situation, it is a shame that clip was not shown)
@Wraiven222 жыл бұрын
@@kelly9876 oh 100%. The show really made it seem like it was way less of a big deal than it was, then they spent the majority of the time to do the “boo boo poor Kyle” spin instead of using that time to show how it’s affecting the PoC. I also really didn’t like how the editing made it look like what Michael and Britney did was even worse than what Kyle did. Are they innocent? No. Is what they did anywhere near the level of what Kyle did? Also no. We have to remember that they are competing for a life changing sum of money, we might not all stand up right away like we think we would in that scenario if it meant throwing away the chance at that money.

I'm a POC, and someone who wouldn't have been invited into the cookout last season, simply because I'm not the right color... If anyone wants to blame someone for Kyle being wary of a POC alliance, blame the COOKOUT. They instituted a strategy that made them the most successful and longest-lasting alliance in BB history. As soon as a strategy is implemented, and wins, someone assuming that strategy could be used again, and to be prepared to buffer against it can't be blamed for thinking its a possibility. At no point did Kyle talk to each of the white people in the house and start maneuvering to create an all-white alliance, he simply stated a wariness of that type of alliance happening again, and that he wanted to be ready if it came to that. Especially when Taylor refused to put up Jasmine... That's a red flag, straight up. Take your microaggressions and shove them somewhere uncomfortable, people are allowed to have any opinion they want in this world. I'll also point out that if Hannah's mom wasn't black, she wouldn't have been invited to the cookout either, just like Alyssa, just like DX. Kyle didn't do anything wrong, and the fact that no one of color is willing to stand up for this complete lack of racism is infuriating, and heartbreaking. This is a game where you sit in a house for months and all you do is talk and strategize. Strategizing for every scenario is, LITERALLY, the game. Strategizing (again, without implementation) against the possibility of the strategy that won the game LAST SEASON isn't racist, its Big Brother. Now, lets pretend Kyle played last season, and he had this same assumption that all the black(ish) people were in an alliance, would that have been racist? No, simply because it would have been true. All you people should get off your high horse, you're going to fall and hurt yourself, and the anti-racism movement. Lets all spend our time hating real racists, and not people just playing the game the way it should be played: strategically. Stop ruining this kid's life.

Just my own personal observation ... when the house was split and with Kyle actually starting to put Alyssa before his alliance, he feared with Turner and Joseph (2 members of the leftovers), his mind (again my own observation) derailed as the thought of losing Alyssa started to fester and thinking he could stay two steps ahead, that he was not looking at the complete picture, but what was going on in the moment. But what it also showed was those biases that he did have in the back of his mind that started to manifest itself and when you are fearful, studies do show that you can start to exhibit destructive behaviors. I'll bring up someone in history that had a awful history BUT did turned his life around for the rest of his life. Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV). As a young man in the 1940s, Byrd was an active member of the KKK. After being elected to congress and realizing that he didn't have those beliefs, spent the rest of his life, until his death on June 28th, 2010, enacted laws that protected people of color, LGBTQ+ (though he voted for DADT & initially just to limit gay marriage). It goes to show that any one of us is capable of admitting to our mistakes and what I want to see with Kyle is the same thing. Right now, he is SAYING all the right things, what I want to see once BB24 is over, does Kyle's action match his words.

Sorry Jason but for Alyssa to 'dump' Kyle for not putting her first and lying to her all season is complete bs. They are playing big brother. How do you know that in the real world he isn't the best boyfriend in the world? EVERYBODY who has played big brother has said the same thing. They are playing the game for x amount of money. No one owes anybody anything. These people are not your family these people are not your friends. Some people may end up becoming friends after. Jason and Danielle. Some people may become family afterwards. Rachel and Brendan. But for the majority of people they are there for themselves and their families. Alyssa proved every single day that she could not be trusted to keep information to herself. She ratted out every conversation and every plan that her alliances were making. So basically he should be able to say that in the real world she's a bad girlfriend cuz she can't keep private or personal information to herself. Kyle went in there to play big brother. It was obvious that Alyssa went in there hoping to find a boyfriend. She has no strategy. She has no allegiance to anyone. She has won nothing. She has floated along the entire time. She is going to be drug along to the end and take up a final 2 spot that she absolutely does not deserve. But it happens every season. No one knows how Kyle or Alyssa are in the real world. Maybe they will end up together. Maybe they won't. But you can't base their potential to be a good boyfriend or girlfriend by their actions in the house.

Kyle did nothing wrong. He’s been gaslit into apologizing. The Cookout was the height of racism and hypocrisy in Big Brother. There was even heavy debate within The Cookout if Hannah was “black enough” to include in the alliance and was definitely treated as an add-on.

@ozzy5136912 жыл бұрын
The only reason why Hannah was included was because Tiffany accidentally spilled the beans about the cookout in front of her but I remember they originally said she wasn't black enough to be included.

Wrong! Kyle absolutely 💯 percent did something wrong full stop. Michael and Britneys actions were disgusting as well no question. If the cook out was racism and hypocrisy what the hell was all the years prior when there were all white alliances. 🙄 just say I'm mad they are on to us! but don't play dumb, that was the first time there was even enough people of color to even allow an alliance; Just take that alone in. What they did was smart the way they did it was brilliant and after years of bs-ing players of color ain't nobody crying but the angry hypocrit mob.
@AndrewSmith-pn2qc2 жыл бұрын
@@coldcut9568 1) There was never an alliance formed on race in big brother history ever before the cookout. There had been alliances formed for other reasons which happened to contain all white individuals - nothing wrong with that. 2) It does not matter how much racism happened in the past. No action of racism is ever acceptable - even if done out of retaliation; racism is NEVER an ok thing to do. If a white man in New York murders a black man it does not give the right for a black man in New York to go murder some random white man out of revenge to achieve some sort of "balance".

Kyle did nothing wrong and I feel bad for him. The CO started this racial thing. Kyle was just over thinking and thought there might be a CO2. Don't get me wrong there was nothing wrong with the 6 CO members bonding and forming an alliance and even their strategy was excellent. The problem with the CO is they said their purpose was to have a black person win BB. I am glad a black person won but not that way. Imagine what would have been the response if 6 while HG's said their purpose was to ensure a white person won. Example: This season Taylor said she won't put up a black woman. She got no negative feedback. Imagine if Alyssa said she won't put up a white woman. Her life would be ruined. The other relevant factor is starting with BB23 the show had become much more diverse. Which means it was very likely there would have been a black winner soon. Therefore, there was no reason for the CO if there ever was. The CO HG's should have realized this and not brought an alliance solely based on race into the game. Thanks to the CO BBUS has changed and not for the better. Racism from any race is wrong and it just breeds more racism. As a result of all of this BBUS is not very watchable anymore. At the risk of being politically incorrect I will say that the CO a great alliance but was also racist. Again, is only they could have recognized the new diverse cast format was for the benefit of minorities and not abused the new format it by forming an alliance based on race at the first opportunity.
@ArtemisBianco2 жыл бұрын
You have a lot to learn about racism if you think a group of black people wanting to see a black winner after 23 seasons is racism. The CO did not start the ‘racial thing.’ Big Brother did by not offering a diverse group people for their ‘social experiment.’ With predominantly white cast, POC likelihoods of winning were significantly less than their white counterparts. Add a prejudice environment facilitated by production on seasons like 15 and 21 and 15 out of 23 seasons consisting of white only alliances, some of which picked off POC players, you have a show where POC players are not given an equal playing ground. I’ve even heard many POC, specifically black people, say they would not go on Big Brother because they thought the show was inherently racist which would be a valid assumption.
@ArtemisBianco2 жыл бұрын
Your example of Alyssa and Taylor isn’t a valid comparison because the socialization of both in not only the game but in the real world is not the same. White people have the luxary of not living in a society where they aren’t criminalized and shoehorned for the race the way the POC, specifically, black and indigenous people, are. We are always acutely aware of our race. Subconsciously, you know that is the truth just as Alyssa does and why she would never say, ‘I don’t want to put up another white woman.’ And, even if she did, she was phrase it as ‘I don’t want to put up another woman.’
@ArtemisBianco2 жыл бұрын
Ignorance, such as what you’re expressing, breeds racism. You’re sentiments would hold true if we existed in a world that is truly equal but it’s not and neither is the world of Big Brother. Members of the CO sacrificed their own personal games and moves that would have been in their better interests to secure the first black winner and for all future black players to not feel as though they had to play with that weight on their shoulders. They also inspired future black players to go on the show such as Taylor and Terrance who both stated they would not have gone on the show without seeing the success of the cookout. I’d suggest looking into why black people openly talk about their experience being black in America and sticking together in a United cause bothers you so much and maybe you’ll find the real racial biases you hold within
@ArtemisBianco2 жыл бұрын
Also, you basically implying the POC should just be grateful to be included is literally prejudice as them working together is not them ‘abusing the system.’ And it’s funny how you claim the CO ruined BBUS and not the blatant racism/homophobia/misogyny that has run rampant on this show for years, meanwhile, this same bigotry is not tolerated in majority of other iterations of the show
@amberla922 жыл бұрын
Then stop watching, good riddance. Funny how you say racism from any race is wrong yet you think the CO ruined big brother and not all the racist actions from prior seasons. That's very telling.
