Hi Scott I find photographing birds very frustrating at times so needed a break and have just started watching your channel again and I think that in the world of today we are fortunate that we are still able to get out and enjoy nature and that is what its all about just getting out and having fun. Don't take all this video stuff to seriously, it's nice of you to show your outings to others and if we learn something on the way from you than that"s great if not than so be it. I enjoy watching your outings and I am sure others do as well and seeing all the other wildlife that we do not have in our own country is a bonus. You see there must be others like myself that watch your channel due to not having anyone else to go out photographing with so just keep on marching on and don't be concerned about the good and the bad days while you are out as we all have them. Keep up the good work my friend. Cheers Glenn v from NZ

Hi Glenn, thank you so much for your kind words. I have to say I am really finding out how difficult it is when you can't get out and take images at the minute. I am in the midst of changing camera systems and have been without a camera for over a week now, according to the law of sod I am constantly seeing image opportunities 😂 Interestingly there is a fascinating story associated with the thumbnail of this video that lead to me helping the police with there enquiries!! Maybe a story for another video!! Surface to say I will be back out as soon as my new gear turns up! All the best 👍👌

Find somewhere peaceful outside, sit and wait. Even if its sheltered. Nature will normally reward you for your patience.

Can't think of anything better! Hopefully I'll have time to do just that this weekend👍

Hi Scott, it happens my friend and I totally get where you are coming from! My channel has gone from a massive high to an all time low so it's the KZbin game we Vloggers play, as long as you still enjoy being in Nature that's the main thing! One day things happen, the next day it's pretty bad! Loving the sounds of the birds especially the ChiffChaffs. Keep it going buddy, although I don't always get to see your videos as regularly as I'd like I always like your diverse content. All the best Rich 👊

Thanks Richard, I think it's good to have a reality check every now and again to remind us what's important. But this last couple of months have been the worse I can remember. I am hopeful that I am now back on track and with trips to Aberdeenshire and Skye in the next two months it should be pretty exciting. All the best mate!🙏👍

Good call Scott it has been awful recently .Nice to hear from you . I had to do an interview in a hide recently with 40 mile an hour gusts outside . But I then did have some of my best shots of Red Deer on Exmoor last week so you just have to keep going . Something always turns up for he who waits long enough. Persistence and patience is the key to wildlife photography 👍

Thanks Mark, I think it's when you have a run where even when you have done everything right outside influences then proceed to ruin your day! The number of times recently I have been set up with my subject in front of me only to have people appear in an obscure location with no rime or reason to why they should be there😂 The laughing emoji is also crying. Hopefully my roe deer encounter has broken the cycle! All the best mate👍👌

I keep making excuses not to go out.booked day off work today to photograph grebes.got all my gear ready,got up at 4.30 am,looked at weather app,saw 30mph winds and went back to bed 😢 as it turns out,today has been great wether and now im kicking myself.. Ive done simlar the last five times.....not good😢

Thanks for watching Sean. I think I have also embraced that situation big time. I find it much worse if I set my heart on photographing a certain subject especially when its hard work anyway. I tend to put my complete focus on that subject and will often discount other opportunities because of it. Much better to go out with no ideas in mind and accept what might come your way! Hopefully you can get back on track soon 👍👌

I know exactly how you feel. Living in Fenland, mostly flooded for months, got out today to Ouse Washes, Welches Dam and photographed swallows for first time this year! Always a treat to see their arrival. Change of wind direction hopefully bring in more species. Pleased to hear you about again

Thanks Brian, nice to know it's not just me!! I can't ever remember it being this bad but going out with a defeatist attitude to start with really didn't help. Hopefully much more to come now. We've had a few swallows for a couple of weeks but not in numbers yet! 👌👍

Good to see you back Scott. I think you should share your outtings no matter what the outcome. Because that is the reality of photography. Main thing is to keep going mate. Hope to see more of your videos soon 🙏

Thanks Adrian, I can't remember a more difficult period this last few months. Hopefully I am out the other side as I've got some exciting stuff coming up soon! All the best mate!👌👍🙏

I totally relate to this. The flooding really turned things upside down, it has been very bad this year, hasn't it.
@scotttilleyphotography5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! It certainly seems that way to me. Wildlife is either missing or well behind where it should be. Hopefully some improvement in the coming months!🤞👍

Totally relate to what you are saying. With pressures of work and difficulty finding wildlife my videos have gone from every 2 weeks to every 3-4 weeks. I have been getting very lazy and taking the easy options which is not great for good videos. Keep up the good work and just enjoy yourself that’s the most important thing. The floods have not helped and KZbin channels seem to be getting harder to grow. Cheers Keith

Thanks Keith, I think many of us have been struggling by the sound of it. I am hopeful I have broken my duck as I have trips to Aberdeenshire and Skye in the next two months so hopefully the wildlife and landscape photography gods will give me a break or two!! Hopefully you can get back on track as well mate!👍👌

I used to go out nearly every day doing wildlife photography, mostly hand held, unfortunately I can't do that anymore due to having Essential tremors so the only photography I can do now is on a tripod using a remote shutter, id love to get the bug back , but with my hands photography isn't the best hobby to have 😪
@scotttilleyphotography5 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that Mark but glad to find you are finding ways around it. I am currently looking at doing more sound recording of wildlife as well in my videos so if you are still keen to try something else while out in the countryside it's another option.👌👍

Good video Scott and fantastic footage of the deer. I had a low point with my photography and channel a few months back. I got out for a hike with friends with no intentions of doing a vlog, just taking a camera for a bit of recreational photography for my own pleasure. I entirely agree with you, enjoy the day and the experience, and the images will follow. The pressure we put on ourselves is our own doing, once you release that pressure it gets you in a much better mindset.

Thanks Andrew, I have just come back from a week trying to photograph peregrine on the Aberdeenshire coast. Extremely difficult and not the results I wanted but the experience far outweighed any images I had anticipated! All the best!👍👌🙏

Cheers Scott, always good content in your vlogs. I struggle to get out sometimes especially with the never ending rain north of the border. Always feel better when out though even if don’t get any images. Onwards and upwards as they say. All the best. 👍📷😎

Hi Scott, nice to see you back Mate. I for one, being relatively new to wildlife photography have had lots of times when I started where I've been thinking ah, I'm not getting any decent images, I'd be trying different camera modes, settings etc and I wasn't really getting anywhere till I came across your channel when you were using the a6400. I have learnt a lot from your videos, and this channel has helped me get better at my photography. Great footage of the deer 👍🏽 Looking forward to the next one 📸

Thanks Lee, we all go through periods like this when nothing seems to be panning out. It's always good to take a look at what is really important and sometimes you do have to remind yourself why your getting up at silly o'clock. Keep on shooting mate👌👍

Thanks Ian. Pretty sure you will end up getting just as much if not more pleasure from your grand daughter in the years to come. I have some nice trips coming up over the next few months so hopefully with a better frame of mind I can make the most of it! All the best mate!👍👌
