For me it was TEAM who was MOTM because everyone contributed. The top performers: Trent for his aggression in winning the ball off Alba to then cross the ball for Gini's first and then the world-class corner. Two assists for Trent. Gini for his super-sub performance - two goals and that superb 180 degree turn with 3 players hounding him in the middle of the park. Fabinho for bossing the midfield inspite of being on a yellow. Divock for being in the right place and right time twice - scoring the match-winner. Alisson made match-winning saves. Matip and Van Dijk were colossal. Shaqiri for his assist Mane, Robbo, Milner & Hendo for being solid and aggressive. Klopp for giving them the belief, inspiration and the tactics. What a performance, it was unbelievable !

Trent’s an 8 going forward, he will do the same job as The Ox. He will stay right side, break the lines, go wide and drop back, he can move left and he can get through the middle. He’d be too restricted as a defensive screen.

To be honest I think the game had changed due to Lahm and Alves. Full backs are not fullbacks anymore at the top teams, the top teams rarely need a traditional back four as in the majority of the games they play they face a low block. So full backs are now wingers with the wide players being forwards and the CM’s screening the CB’s. I think Trent should stay put. If Gerrard was 18 again, under Klopp he’d be a full back for a good few years.

Chris - I have to disagree here, SWuarez was a twat over both legs. Fine to play his best for Barcelona, but he was the agitator to eliminate Robertson because Messi wanted him gone. Michael Owen was in the tunnel at Camp Nou. Half time, players lined up to come on, and Suarez just starts screaming abuse at Robbo, I guess to nerve him. Several confrontations with Messi over both legs followed - he was definitely targeted. Then he was intentionally injured by Suarz back kicking as they ran after the ball.
