Something that's also interesting is there are Fish on the map Valhalla in Halo 3. In the water, you can shoot / throw a grenade and they'll spawn floating on top of the water. 343's remakes seem to miss these small features, as if they didn't know about them to begin with.

The halo 3 rat does indeed appear in reach's campaign. It spawns in the mission "The Package" in the red lit room when you re-enter swordbase. Prolly appears elsewhere, but it's the most noticeable.

It's just that they only are in the segment when one of the Marine commanders states the power was cut. So basically you are in the dark and it was hard to see them. They are used all over the map in the dark places. They're killable and can be spotted easily with Nigh Vision.

A lot of the Halo reach animals were actually there. Just only in specific missions and areas. The raven and rat can be found during Exodus. Roaches are in the return to sword base. Hawks fly over somewhere on the first mission. I don’t know about the others.

I think the raven is also in tip of the spear, tho I'm not certain. I do know that the porcupine was never in the released game. One of the b.net weekly updates from a few weeks before the game came made mention of the little guy. Apparently there was a pretty big bug attached to it that they couldn't iron out before the game went gold. I think if it had been in the game it was supposed to be in the winter contingency mission.

Funfact: the noble team head biped replacing their helmets in cutscenes is the same trick they used in ODST for sgt johnson, however the biped used there was the firefight johnson one instead of it's own dedicated one which is why johnsons hat is grey in the cutscenes. As an aside, i think the banger form was meant to be spawned by tank forms, since they do have the ability to spawn infection forms

Those spheres with the chrome reflection sphere and the grey sphere are most likely lighting IBL's. In visual effects the VFX artist would have those as reference to light their scenes with (so it would light the scene based on the HDRI of that chrome sphere). Very cool to know that those chrome sphere's are in game as it means you could effectively extract perfect lighting conditions to the game from them......

I was playing halo reach on the 360 and then I died on the last mission and it respawn me and said there will be another time. Kind of confused me maybe it was a glitch with the respon and the text maybe was a dialog part that was cut idk just thought it was odd thought I should tell the best "glitch" lore and other stuff like that creator Edit: love the vid :)

The only way to respawn is if you die from out of bounds. The mission doesn’t end when six dies but when he reaches like 1 hp. when you go out of bounds you will die but since you died and the cutscene pops, it resets.

I had no idea Engineers had been around so long. Neeto The space blimp reminds me of concept art of what creatures would look like if they lived on different planets in our solar system. I wish I remembered the title of the book, the art was beautiful. The "Pretty Spartan" looks like it just has slightly sharper textures (see the body glove behind the knee), and probably has a higher polycount (hence the framerate drop) The rat is seen throughout the Reach campaign. on New Alexandria for sure in the lower parts of the opening area.
