Oh, gotta go and explore that path. I always end up going there and thinking there must be more to see, now I know where to start. Excellent video. Thanks buddy.

Awesome 👍 Such beautiful and so different from anything I've ever seen. I mean we have a huge variety of terrains and foliage but nothing quite like that (and no brambles thank goodness)...
@StephenJReid4 жыл бұрын
It’s funny because we often totally take it completely for granted. Realised this the most when I was in California a few years back and everything was just desert with very little green.
@KCadbyRacing4 жыл бұрын
@@StephenJReid We have plenty of greenery here as well but not with terrain exactly like what you have in Ireland. You would love places like Olympic National Forest and Park (about half the size of Ireland) in Washington state and the Oregon Coast is one of my favorite places with it's rocky cliffs and huge dark (black-ish when wet) bolders that decrease in size down to pebbles and then sand as you get to the ocean waters. Look up "Cape Blanco Lighthouse" as one example. And then of coarse the massively HUGE Redwood and Sequoia trees (look up "Drive-Thru Tree Park")...

That tree has been gazed upon by people for maybe the last 250 years and maybe longer. There are old sycamore trees in my garden. I saw photos of these trees from 70 years ago. They look the same to this day. Sycamore live three hundred years and have been known to live much longer. Never knew about this coastal path. Will be worth a visit. 👍

Another great video, thank you. I found your channel a few weeks ago when considering buying an Osmo Pocket and saw your review on it (I went for GoPro 7 in the end). My 3 year old son just sat and watched this entire video with me and enjoyed all of it. He won't even watch 30 seconds of my videos - I've got a lot to learn! You really deserve a lot more subscribers.

Haha thanks very much Craig. I’ve always tried to edit to keep my own attention and I’ve a terrible attention span. Worked against me in school but maybe it’s finally coming in use 😂 I have the attention span of a 3yr old 😁

@@StephenJReid aha so I just need to think like a 3 year old... oh look what's that over... this looks nice... i want that one! I think that might just work! I noticed your clips are all generally less than 10 seconds. Must take a lot of editing - I'd imagine you shoot longer videos and cut them up.

Yep. That striking plant is an Echium. You'll find them in the Canaries, but they are Increasing common in gardens here in England. Unfortunately, they self seed, and are invasive. As they are covered in sharp spikes, they are also a hassle to remove. Not so good to see that 'Triffid', colonizing your gorgeous coastline. Thanks for the quirky video - a fun mix of the ludicrous with the scenically sublime. :-)

Stephen J Reid I’m on the fence with getting a VND or set of NDs for my drone as I don’t fly fast or close so not sure that I’d benefit much from the added motion blur? Which brand did you get?

Another interesting video. You manage to get great audio from such little cameras. Are you using your Micro windjammers on the Insta? I use the Insta X and Hero 8 myself with external audio. Wondering if the windjammer will show up in my footage given the different form factor of the X. Seems we have a mate in common too with Mr Hanna. Keep up the good work Stephen you have a beautiful coast there.
@StephenJReid4 жыл бұрын
I mostly use the audio from the Hero8 with the windjammers on. The Insta360 One R is fine when there’s no wind. But you can hear in the 360shots every time there is a breeze. Haven’t figured out a good way to prevent wind noise with it yet as windjammers would show up in the 360footage. I might possibly be able to hide a mini wireless mic in the 360 blind spot. Ah yes, the talented Mr Hanna

Love the style of your videos Stephen (both content and editing). Recently discovered your channel while contemplating a cheap action camera for my runs in the peak district. Leaning towards getting a go pro 7 or 8 now... 😅

The color profile is different in each cameras, same scenery but the different color doesn't look good. Try to record in flat color profile and use the same color grading across the footages to get a similar color all around.
@StephenJReid4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback Riasat. If this had been a client project I would have matched the colour grading better, but I only had 5mins to color grade the entire video. Both the drone shots and the GoPro shots use a flat profile and the same white balance, but they are still different.

Do you think there will be a new cannon out to replace the m50 anytime soon? Thinking about buying a proper camera now, have looked at the new sony but can't change the lens. Go pro, air 2 and pixel still leaves me short
@StephenJReid4 жыл бұрын
Not sure to be honest. I don’t overly keep up with many future camera announcements. That new Sony compact is probably the best value vlogging camera, but obviously lots of limitations compared to something bigger with a lens mount.
