Edit: SHINY CHARM IS IRRELEVANT Shiny Charm's effect isn't applied on this hunt. That's because this item only generates more shiny PIDs when the game generates a pokemon (two extra PIDs to be exact), but since you're carrying the same PIDs within your eggs, you got not increased shiny odds. Edit: ALTERNATE DISTRIBUTION METHOD - works on any language, through PKHex You can also inject these eggs and any other event through PKHEX. You just got to download their .pgf files, open up your save file, click the mystery gift option, drop the files into the fields and save. It also enables you to receive the eggs in bw2. Wanted to add a microoptimization. Backup your hub file with all the eggs within them and, once you're done of checking your eggs, restore that backup. It will spare yourself of sending the eggs back to the hub.

EDIT: TRADE TIMESAVE I just now figured out an "option" from the main menu, after text speed and sound and stuff: If you set your "SAVE BEFORE IR" to off before trading, it wont save the game every time. Not sure how this affects when you would need to trade (it probably would save the game after the trade automatically? If you needed to do it manually after this probably wouldnt save time but i imagine it would) just a thought. trades are fast enough though the saves dont take too long tbh

I can tell just how much time and effort went into this video and hunt, the script for this video alone must have taken a million years to write and edit not to mention the time and effort that went into making and editing the video and all the time that went into the research as well as the hunt itself. I wish millions of people can see this video and truly appreciate every detail of it. I think this video's a masterpiece, everything was so well placed and organized, you can only truly appreciate this video by trying to imagine yourself doing every single edit and typing everything out yourself including the script and doing all the neccisary research and fact checking and only then can you have the slightest idea of the amount of time, stress, and work that went into this video. It pains me to know some people will just skip to the reaction of him getting it, they're definitely missing out on some high quality content. All shiny hunters can relate to the anxiety of going full odds and thinking you're doing something wrong or that a pokemon can't be shiny even after doing the research however to do a hunt as complicated as this one and to be one of the first people to try it must be unimaginably more stressful and anxiety producing. I also loved all the Pokemon music in this video. :)

You immediately caught my eye (for better or for worse really depends) and then later, I saw you streaming. Well you were right about one thing, this video is a banger! Some might even say it was eggcellent... alright bad pun haha. Huge congrats on the shiny birb! I was shocked when you said you already found one. Took a bit longer than I intended to watch the video, but I enjoyed every minute! AoT just finished so it's a perfect time to binge;P I felt personally attacked by the octopus arm comment lmao. I could've missed it but I don't think you mentioned it, did you consider using pksm instead of pkhex? The only thing it can't do that pkhex can, is possibly edit egg cycles. Though PKSM has a built in hex editor as well, so I'm sure you can, I just don't know how haha. Then you can get all your saves info tsv and whatnot, without having to dump your save and opening it on your pc. Plus it has a built in storage system. You can also use wireless file sharing to send files to and from your CFW 3ds without having to remove the sd card every time. I takes like 5 minutes or less to set up, I highly recommend it. Even if you stick with pkhex, i think it'd still be a quicker file transfer process. The N+1 method was very interesting, I never would've thought about that lol. Did you try to send more than one egg to the same save file? By that I mean, make a save BU, get the egg, trade it to another game, restore BU, get another egg, and so on? I've never messed with Distro carts, so I don't know if the save backup workaround would work, but i feel like it should. Good luck on hunting down the rest, and congrats on already finding another! edit. sorry for all the questions, and rambling, I tried to cut it down as much as I could lmao

glad youre still chunkin thru Aot!! nope, just pkhex. i just used what i was comfortable with. i havent used that but it sounds super helpful! wireless sharing would actually be pretty sick, with the amount of stuff i was moving... i might consider it for the last phase (lol) , thanks for the heads up! Not sure if that backup would work. I'm sure there's tons of optimizations like that to make the hunt faster, but I tried keeping it as "authentic" as possible outside of pkhex rescues, info viewing and just owning the cart and performing the hunt in general. There's been a lot of suggestions though, i hope those that do hunt it can do it however they want :) yuhhh thanks so much!! no stress im stoked to make this next vid. glad you enjoyed!

Although PKSM is more comfortable, I wouldn't trust it since when I was moving my Gen 6 Pokémon from XY to ORAS or vice versa...Pkhex detected illegalities in Pokémon that were moved. It also doesn't transfer Pokémon from Gen 2 to 7 correctly. Even though it has nothing to do with injecting events on Gen 5, it denotes that PKSM isn't as accurate as Pkhex and glitches and illegalities may happen. If I were to use it, I would use scripts that don't modify or generate Pokémon, like injecting White Forest dwellers or Pass Powers. That's why I recommend Ninja use Pkhex. I prefer to use a more refined and older program over PKSM, which is relatively new with a smaller developing group.

First off, amazing video. I throughly enjoyed it. Congrats on it! I subbed to you. Unrelated but this brings back soo much nostalgia. I loved going to GameStop to download these event pokemon. One event that sticks out to me most is the shiny legendary crown beasts. I loved seeing them in the movie, and when I saw they were coming out as events, I just had to have them. I convinced my dad to bring me to game stop each week they were available, and downloaded them onto my diamond, platinum and soul silver. I thought they were the coolest things ever. Then I transferred one to my pokemon white when I got it and was able to catch zoroark which quickly became one of my favorite pokemon. I still have all of them to this day and love the nostalgia from it

Your collection of event distribution cartridges is so cool! I wonder if there's one for that Japanese Rayquaza with V-Create, too, or if that was just an online thing~ If I had any of those cartridges, I'd wear such on my wrist, too lol. I'm glad to know others use CFW and PKHeX with their gen 5 Pokemon games. I was so happy when I found out that the DLC PWT matches, C gear designs, pokedex skins, musicals, etc. could be injected and switched out long after official releases ended.

This is really high quality! I was shocked when I looked and saw how relatively small your channel is! Out of curiosity, have you considered actually speedrunning the full games? The way you approached the optimization was really neat and it could be cool to see more like it! Speedrunning and full odds shiny hunting don't overlap often, so it's really cool when they do.

Hi! I looked through the egg events on Bulbapedia awhile back, so seeing this video is actually really cool to see someone else cover it! There's a similar event in Japan and/or Korea in gen 7 that SHOULD enable you to hatch a shiny in the same game? IIRC it covers Goomy, Drampa, Turtonator, Passimian, Oranguru, and Mareanie? I figured I'd see if there was evidence of it, and ask if you would be willing to cover it. I know you're more of a gen 5 person, but I thought it was neat and somewhat relevant, so I figured I'd bring it up! EDIT: It's worth noting that, IF this is true, it's the ONLY WAY I know of to get a shiny Cherish Ball Pokemon with your original trainer ID.

36:02 there’s also a way to use 3DS NTR to wirelessly capture footage and using either snickerstream or nitromac on your computer. The quality isn’t as good as a capture card but it’s still very helpful. Once you’ve modded your 3DS it’s possible just by downloading NTR

Surely the shiny charm doesn't do anything because the PID has already been generated before you get the egg into a file with the charm? Also I don't think IVs come from the PID?

I love spreading misinformation on the internet. You did correct yourself in a reply to your pinned comment, but the shiny charm will not affect shininess of an already generated PID. While it’s true that event pokemon in gen 5 have their PID tied to ivs, most other ways of generating pokemon in gen 5 do not and have separate rng for pid and ivs.
