I found a LOST Pokemon Event Cartridge!

Recreating a Pokemon event from another decade with the help of the actual Pokemon event cartridge from Nintendo in 2011!
Welcome back to the channel! Today we have a deep look at the legendary beasts Shiny Raikou, Shiny Entei & Shiny Suicune GameStop event from 2011 which also unlocked the Zoroark event in Pokemon Black & White!

yup that I did in fact I took advantage of a loophole where you could only get 1 per save file so I kept using my secondary games like Pearl to download the gift then after picking it up I would trade it to 1 of my main games then would delete the save file on that secondary game and just keep doing that for awhile basically I did this so much back then that it caused me to get a Shiny Chimchar

Cool to see you diving into the topic of distribution cartridges! I now own all PAL cartridges except of one (and a few NTSC-cartridges as well) and they are the heart of my Pokémon collection. Also they’re so rare and valuable… I’m playing Black atm and it is so great to be able to access Victini but also the Zorua and Zoroark event the official way like back then, thanks to the Liberty Pass, WIN11 Celebi and Legendary cartridge (for Raikou, …). So neat and I hope I will find the last one missing as well Gl also if you are trying to discover a few more :D Edit: Also cool to see you showing off the PAL fullset of a friend at 02:40 :P Edit 2: The MICHINA Arceus cartridge you show at 03:26 is probably the most rare of them all (including NTSC) but this eBay auction was just a flex at 99% as the number of it was already known to be part of a fullset of a dedicated collector. That is actually amazing man!! I've been interested in these cartridges for years, but this is the first time I actually came around one. I also heard that the Arceus cartridge is apparently the rarest of them, it's also so rare that you see them around somewhere. And yes I do live in Germany, I might hit you up sooner or later about it! :D Do you have Discord?

@@OliverMKP Yeah, MICHINA Arceus is generally the rarest, at least it will be mentioned often if you ask collectors, I guess. Imo, there is the one or another cartridge at least on a similar rarity/value level but that’s just my experience the last years Of course: Arcryoshi#4017

This so interesting. Crazy that you got your hands on one of the distribution cartridges. I remember going to Gamestop as a teenager to get my hands on some special distributions (I forgot all that I got, but I def remember getting Arceus). Absolutely love the cherish balls those Pokemon came with. I heard many of these event cartridges are actually dumped somewhere online, so everyone can technically get their hands on many old events for free! But obviously it's even cooler distributing yourself these from the actual authentic event cartridges. Thank you man!

If you’re not up to paying insane amounts for a cartridge and still want the event pokemon, can obtain them using ROM dumps of the legitimate cartridges.

Amazing memories man. Definitely keep those shiny legends in gen 5, I unfortunately traded my ones up back in the day. So happy to finally have those original events back in gen 4 & 5.

I got lucky that a friend traded me one of them. You can transfer the doggoes to BW to get Zoroark or Celebi to get Zoroa. The bad news is, it only works by transfering them with the relocator which made it annoying. But I did get both before BW2 came out and experienced the event as intended. But I never got the Beasts normally since I skipped Gen 4.

This was one of my favorite events. I begged my parents to take me to gamestop and I remember getting them and transferring them to my black copy. I even have the event poster still to this day!

Do you know if these event cartrigdes are one time use? If i were to buy one used of eBay, would i be able to get the pokemon?

Yeah you'll be totally fine! It's only limited in a way that one Gen 4 copy can only receive the same event one time, but if you had 1,000 copies of Gen 4, you could distribute 1,000 event Mons to yourself. Or you restart your savefile, because in the end it's actually bound to the savefile.

Did you use an UK or US cartridge of SoulSilver for this distribution?

I used an US SoulSilver cartridge, but I am fairly sure that every cartridge works that has the same language as the distribution cart.

What's a good price for something like this? I'm looking on Ebay and just wanna make sure I'm not paying too much. Also, will the cartridge have that red look when shining a light from behind to confirm it's legit, like we can use to confirm a B/W or HGSS cartridge is legit?

Regarding the price, that is completely different from event cart to event cart. You can get the Legendary Shiny Beast cart for less than 100$ from what I can see, but stuff like the TRU European Arceus cartridge always goes for at least 4 digits. Also the Legendary Shiny Beast cartridge does NOT have this red look from the insight like HGSS/Gen 5 carts, I'd guess most event carts don't have this (most event carts got developed around 2007-2009, right before they started doing the infrared carts with HGSS in 2010 onwards). Maybe there are a few gen 5 event cards tho with that feature.

So how did you or how do you get thos cartridge?

The only ways to get those cartridges are knowing collectors who want to give them away or the secondary market (eBay i.e.).

Yeah, they're def not cheap! I think the actually sold ones went for a little bit less than that but yeah some are really expensive, the Arceus event one goes for a couple of thousands actually.

did you manage to distribute it to a european game or did you use an american game?

The region doesn't matter - just the language. I personally used USA English HGSS games, but you could also use European English games. As long as the language of the games are the same as the event cartridge it works.

This isn't lost at all. There are many copies for sale online. I have three copies of it I also have five bootleg copies There was a point in time I was collecting every single event card. I can get my hands on from generation 1 to 5 And I have every single one. The ones that cannot be found legitimately are bootlegs mainly for gen 2
