Dave, your patience has been rewarded! It will not surprise me if you end up with a unique instrument. Personally, I think the guitar looks perfect without the Bigsby. Perhaps it's a prototype for the long awaited "TCD Signature" model ;-)

Dave they're out in the wild here in the US. I just saw a scratch and dent for $900. Looks beautiful man. I also think they're so much more versatile than an LP. I wish they made lefties man. Enjoy it, I hope it brings you years of joy and great music and most of all reminds you of the good times with your father. God Bless

That's the nicest red I've seen 😍. Epiphone are doing well with the semi-hollows now. And yeah Marty played one with a Bigsby, but tbh, they're more trouble than they're worth.

It's a beauty! Nice score. I agree about the Veri-wrong-tone switch. I have an L6-S copy with one. There are only a couple of switch positions that I like.

A lot of people approach the purpose of the switch differently: You have to think of it as a selector of different guitars and then you tweak your amp settings accordingly to the position as you do it when you're switching between a Les Paul and a Telly.

I saw this happened with a watermelon red 335 with bigsbey back in april, but couldn't find any info about it, and now they have released it with a bunch of other guitars that aren't being promoted, there is a video by Andertones that cover some of them, in the case of ES, there is the wm red with bigsbey, the red and ebony 345s, a black and green 335 and a cherry figured 335, they all come with deluxe gigbag. Thomenn doesn't have them all, check Alfasoni, a Spanish store. There are some stores that have these guitars and it's like thommen, they don't have a lot of photos, it is strange. It's like epiphone knows they will be sold out all the time if they promote them. I hope I can get one by Christmas

You can buy one at reverb with a bigsby today for around 1000. Used good condition 2011

Hi! Discovering the channel; I also like the 335-type guitars. The 335 is already very versatile (if you start touching the volume and tone controls), but the 345 with a varitone are even more versatile. It's a guitar I would like to have. I just got my very first Les Paul, and I didn't plan to like it so much (I'm more a Telecaster guy). But it's a great guitar. Now, by the time I can afford a 335 or a 345, our planet might have collapsed 😂 But Epiphone makes these cheaper versions, which are an option that I keep in mind. I wonder if they will release a "Inspired by Gibson Custom" version of the 345, or even just a 335. I don't know what's the building quality (wood, laquer, binding,...) nor the electronics (knobs, switch and more importantly, the pickups). Greetings from France

That’s what I thought, but KZbin said it posted 10 my time. And Dave said 10 pm his time. That would be 12 hours. But we shouldn’t trust KZbin to keep time, thay remove videos and restrict ones that the only thing wrong with, is it might go against their politics.

I think Thomann is using the old 2010s ES-345 listing description which came with a Bigsby, and that that's causing the confusion

Great job seeking that out and getting one. Definitely seems to be a lucky find! Instead of installing a bigsby on it, would you think of putting a nice after market trapeze tailpiece on it? Cheaper, much easier installation and doesn't affect tuning as much, and still gives it a real vintage look and feel. Best of luck with it. it's a beaut.

Hmmm... I had a gibson 345 and the varitone wasn't noisy like that one. And the tones were more useable. I wonder what exactly they're using for the electronics?

It's OK, BB King and Freddie King showed Varitone switches make an awesome sounding guitar, and the Bigsby don't matter at all. And if that is "the song" in your mind, you know nothing of blues. And yes, you will get ripped, and for a good reason.
