Are you dealing with sciatica? My patient today was - sometimes this injury can stem from a disc bulge & sometimes it can stem from the piriformis (this was the case for my patient). I have sciatica, I've only had it for 2 years. I'm currently experiencing my 1st flare, for the 1st time ever since my L4-L5 discectomy almost 2 years ago. I have so much pain in my left side in the hip through the leg. I'm not sure if it's from re-herniation of that disc or possibly the piriformis. I've been trying to work or my core to fix this, but I swear every movement I have tried is severely painful. How can I try to figure this out before having to go back to a doctor?

Physiotherapists are unfortunately so underrated. My doctor didn't do a thing besides discouraging me to do any rdls ever. I worked with a physiotherapist on my form for 4 months and now I can squat and rdl painfree 🎉

I totally agree. After having two babies in 1,5 years, I had lingering pelvic pain for years. After three appointments at a physiotherapist pelvic specialist doing CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), strengthening exercises and stretching I got pain free in a short time and stayed pain free. No doctors were any help at all.

My doctor dismissed my sciatica pain so fast and prescribed heavy muscle relaxants. I didn't take them and just rested and stretched. I also performed electroshock therapy on myself, which reslly helped. I'm glad more videos are coming up on this type of pain. I wish I had gone to a physiotherapist instead

This whole routine fixed me (from previous videos). I've been following the routine of flossing, and clam shells for a few months, and my pain went away. I went from not being able to put my socks on to doing jiu jitsu again. Thank you!

So many patients are diagnosed with “sciatica” instead of the true culprit, piriformis. As a Massage Therapist, I see it alllll the time. Who would think that little muscle could cause so much trouble?

Hope you get better! I had it long time ago, very painful! Luckily moving was working for me, after like 20 minutes it was painless, but I couldn't sleep or rest from the pain.

I read a case study from the 70s iirc about a guy who had persistent testicular pain and they tried "everything" including some exploratory surgeries followed by actually removing the offending testicle. Turned out to have been piriformis syndrome all along. I couldn't find it again when I searched just now but did find others who have had similar experiences...

Hi, I was wondering, could you please create a video as to how to even out your glute/hip/thigh muscles I have scoliosis and one of my thigh/hips is literally an inch wider than the other and much more difficult to tone than the smaller and I can’t seem to even them out. Any content, addressing this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Also wearing the right shoes changes everything. Going to a place like lucky foot is golden. They can figure out how you move and give you the right shoe. Some people curve outward some inward etc

Had it for years, and I walked for a living. Yes I suffered hard and ate dirt. Professionals missed it too. Eventually, I discovered the wearing an SI belt helped. It wasn’t just my SI joint, but mainly my pubic symphysis being off. because it was years and years, other problems surfaced like neck pain, a shoulder issue, and scoliosis. This began to correct itself after months wearing the belt, but then the foot/ankle of the other leg gave out, maybe not entirely related, buy suspect of deficiencies die to compensation for all of that history.

I didn't even know you could fix sciatica... I've been dealing with it for 7 years now, I had 3 different doctors recommend injections for pain management which I expressly did not want... ultimately it destroyed my trust in doctors and as a result, I haven't been to one in 5 years. I wish I could find one that would properly diagnose it and help me to fix it, but I'm not gonna keep paying thousands of dollars for then to give me the run around or try to prescribe pain killers

​@@DBowTX the resolution in this video is predicated on the flossing technique working. My expectations are the same as everyone else's, which are set by the title of video, which is resolving sciatica pain. I tried it daily for about 5 days recently, with no noticeable impact.

I think I have this as well as other things, but the reason is I crashed fullspeed into a stopped semi, and was trapped for over an hour before having to be rescued for another hours, it was my fault so I blame no one but myself, also they fixed my broken bones of course but I had no health insurance so after that they sent me home. I have a radial torn miniscus as well as other smaller time injuries

Could long piriformis mean that regular deadlifts trigger sciatica? I started getting minor sciatic nerve pain after doing my heaviest deadlift so far and I am trying to figure out the cause. I already have observable knee cave when lunging or running, so I think I might have it.

Hey, I’ve had pain post runs that lingers on my right knee for a bit now. The pain seems to be below my knee and I think is triggered when I go up on my toes with my right leg. What are some exercises I can do to try to find the issue? I tried taking a break and resting from running but it still came back after a full week and a half of rest. Maybe that wasn’t enough?

Sciatica is painful AF. It’s caused by damage, inflammation or irritation to the Sciatic nerve that runs from your hip right down the back of your leg. If you get it bad, you end up on heavy pain meds and crutches until it settles down…..Very unpleasant and the worst part is, the pain meds you get do barely anything for the pain.

It's nerve pain. People describe it as a shooting pain like a lightning bolt from somewhere around the lower back and butt cheek down the leg. Usually it's aggravated by sitting for long periods of time. Often it is caused by compression of the disc spaces between the vertebrae in the lower spine. Decompressing your spine everyday like hanging from a bar so you're using the weight of your lower body can help reverse that compression and reduce the pain. Trust me if you ever had it you would know! It's very quick and intense pain that will take your breath and pain medications don't typically do that much for it

My sciatica is from my battery 🔋 on my hip rt I have had two spinal surgery including the stimulator being put in I had sciatica before the spinal stimulator but it got so much worse with the battery I need it removed so I really need to have exact form while doing rdls etc I have to strength train it's helps me mentally and physically but I need surgery if u have any have suggestions for me I know iam not there physically but I workout hard please help me 🥹

Dr. Aaron, respectfully you’re an absolute legend and watch your content almost religiously for guidance. However, the patient in this video is actually not a good person. I would normally never wish anyone excruciating sciatica pain. However, if you knew what this particular individual has done in his dark past. Specifically in college at UH, he should be ashamed and suffer much worse outcomes. That said. If he actually has any further issues please…remove him as a client.
