Substitute Cassareep with soy sauce, browning, or burnt sugar. Make sure to adjust the salt to your liking when substituting.
Cassareep is a dark sauce that is made from Cassava with added spices. You can pick up a bottle in Caribbean stores (mainly Guyanese stores).

This is a hack I got from my mother! It adds a nice flavor to Chinese sauce. Im not sure about the restaurant's ingredients. However you can try mine and decide for yourself.💕
