A month ago, I was randomly humming this tune. I'm 20 and I watched this film time and time again when I was little and loved this song! I can't believe I still remembered the tune and words after so many years! Amazing!

I used to adore this film as a kid... and you know seeing this after so many years it's obvious that the quality is horrible but surprisingly even though the plot is a historical mess and perhaps offensive in that way the morals and message are better and more solid than many children's films I've watched. And the dialogue is quite touching! i'm impressed! with their budget and my expectations as an adult they did a decend job.

One huge gripe I have with this movie - why is Anastsia being mean to the grandmother? The woman can be as cold as she wants, she's been conned God knows how many times and is sick of getting hurt. She's not a bitch. She's old, has lost her entire family, and now there's people trying to dupe her with her only living relative for money. There's nothing (prior to the song) to prove this girl's not another actress. Don Bluth's Anya was RESPECTFUL AND UNDERSTANDING about this fact.
@kllk12ful5 жыл бұрын
Honestly this was done better in the Bluth version because of the peppermint oil memory and the fact that Anya had the key to the music box that her Grandma gave her

Stumbled upon this accidentally, and because I love animation, and have to say it's not terrible. I have seen much, much worse. The dialogue is well-written, although probably a bit much for the age group it's aiming for. The animation is subpar and some of the character designs are pretty extreme but, again I've seen much worse. The song was pretty however and the voice acting is well done. I believe nostalgia would give it a deeper impact for me though. Thanks for the upload.

That's the way Royalty was back then. cherrieblossomgurl Except for the fact that both movies were released in 1997. While the one with Dimitri was released on November 21, I couldn't find the specific day The Secret of Anastasia (this movie) was released. Even saying that, movies this old were mostly hand drawn and with Anastasia being released a little over a month before the new year, The Secret of Anastasia (this movie) was most likely released BEFORE the other Anastasia movie. And while they both have the same goal, the timelines of when the movies supposedly took place, the locations, and the other things like one being in an orphanage and the other living in her old house, one having only the brother and one sister and the other having the brother and all three sisters. Also the Secret Police were after her in one and Rasputin was after her in the other.
