Beyond romanticism, those last few words require more consideration. The earth doesn't need protection in the sense that a child does, because the earth is relatively omnipotent in comparison to people. Intellectual responsibility sounds great on the surface, though many with such assertions fall prey to self-deception and or hubris when they don't understand that the nature of dreaming implies a paradigm that's about sustaining or restoring harmony, not one of control by force, which intellectual ideas about what is correct, couple with distorted instinct, often lead to. The reliable responsibility is to the rituals and practices that enable balance in the ecology of consciousness (the real meaning of "keepers of the dream"). This way dreaming is not undermined in favour of abstract intellectualism and interventionism that lacks deeper resonance and understanding, which doesn't end well. What we need is polyphasic integration of the revitalizing power of dreaming/remembering, with responsible stewardship of the ecology that keeps inflationary power in balance and attunes to the unspeakable value of being and nature. So protection translates essentially to self-awareness and the principles of harmonious relationship, augmented by movement, ongoing dialogue, self-transcendence, and intellect.

The idea of dreaming could also be connected with the idea that uncreated consciousness spawned a simulation . When the creative consciousness had ‘run the simulation’ (for want of a better term) individual units of consciousness (that would be us) were invited to download into the simulation and continue the process of creation. There were over 300 languages spoken in more than 500 regions. This Dreamtime is but one story of a multitude of myths and stories. It’s like recounting Polish myths saying its European history or belief. It is part of Europe but not the history or beliefs of all of Europe. Using the words "the dreaming" applied to these creation myths and lore was an English person's words. This transpired after stories she sent back to England in the 1800's. been coming back to this a few times and in more life experience i think i understand it now. imagine you are there at the start all you saw was the elements battling the soul judges its influencers based on its energy levels and then life learnt it could create its over energy to influence the system "dreamtime" (maybe) so the animals dreamed of new stuff but when humans came we understood how to do the rituals alike to aboriginals to generate energy to influence the dreamtime (which they say energize life in a new way) thats around when the dreamtime ended alot because we escaped the dream or nature and tried to create new dreams but now we don't understand the dream and got lost in the dream in modern time so by that logic we shoud re enter the dream and understand the beauty in it again before we choose to "wake up" and go our own way

There is difference between dreaming and memories and even when one wakes from either one finds oneself still dreaming! It is important to know this next point. We preceive, this a hard fact but what we preceive is not a hard fact of same kind! Native cultures around the world have held in high regard the dreamer and the dream, my own experience in dreaming and memories would have me agree with practices, but with that said. I have come to understand that this is no more absulute than reason both are malable at best. Whose dreaming story is this? I'm very curious. Stories are super important to Aboriginal Peoples, ESPECIALLY Australians. They are hard-fucking-core when it comes to telling stories and learning their songlines. So much so that people today have essentially, a first hand account of things that happened thousands of years ago. The Aboriginal Australian culture is over 40,000 years old. They still tell stories of people living amongst mega fauna and its so accurate that they knew what certain animals were, and what they looked like before archeologists found bones and fossils. Look up the Diprotodon. I understand that this is more of a video essay, but combining stories from different lands would be like trying to combine the myths of Ancient Greece and Egypt.

This puts context to the snake in the Dreaming narrative. I come from a narrative where the snake became representative of an evil appetite for a dichotomous knowledge of good and bad. And a loss of the life God intended as a result. I think a snake is a good representation of that, with eyes that do not close, and an appetite to consume what will fit its belly, sizing up prey, and striking when unexpected and taking advantage. To see it as part of another creation narrative, sometimes with, sometimes without, the emphasis on betrayal is interesting. Also I am pondering how much that informs evolution as an idea too. Hi, I am an Aboriginal woman, a Pitjantjatjara Woman of the first nations people of Australia. I'd like to firstly say, the woman pictured in the first frame is not aboriginal and this could create a lot of confusion. Secondly on a scientific level, while a lot of people would consider this myth, it has recently been shown that my people, the oldest living race, co-existed alongside mega-fauna. Our stories or "myths" correlate with archaelogical evidence of these mega fauna. So our "myths" are infact not so mythological and closer to an ancient truth. Still a beautifully presented reading of the dreaming however it would have been better ready by an indigenous Australian, as any other culture cannot properly appreciate the story they are telling to tell it right. Also this isnt the total Aboriginal concept of creation, only one story, and not the creation story... And this story varies from tribe to tribe... which if you look up our language map.... its a lot of tribes. I am not really sure this is so accurately represented and would love to know where your research came from..

It may be well-intentioned, but it's right off the mark. Let Aboriginal people tell their own stories. They have had enough stolen from them already!

And no we are not the oldest race nor did we ever own the land of Australia. Our ancient Father is Adam as well and we were and always were custodians of the land, not owners. People who love myths never understand them as "falsehood", but as cultural products of great complexity, elaboration, beauty and wisdom.
