Thanx for the mini virtual vacations. I’m a shut-in, can no longer travel about. Grew up in St. Louis MO with Route 66 starting to be abandoned for the new Freeways, as they were known, then called Interstates. Comedian, author, actor, Steve Martin worked for Disney and Knotts Berry Farm as a magician for a brief time when he was in late teens. Just a bit of trivia that shows us, we never know what the future can bring. Enjoy your films and your creative comedic and educational style and “traveled with you” for years. “Hi Ali!” Be well y’all. Thanx again for the entertainment and company. ✌️n💕

Justin ! While an employee at Knotts in the 70s , I was honored and excited to work the FIRST Halloween Haunt ! My manager gave me the most awesome position . . . ABOVE THE FIRST RAMP INSIDE THE LOG RIDE . While the wood cutters now sawed upon bodies , I was placed directly above the freshly arriving logs loaded with my prey ! I was armed with dozens of boxes of squirmy , rubbery bugs and creepy crawlies AND many balls of light kite string . My job ?... Well to scare them as I saw fit ! I LOVED pranking the log riders , especially the LAST ONE IN THE LOG with a spider to the back or a "slug" to the face... Of course every rider was fair game . The creators also had given me a multi button control box with each button push producing a scream , howl or cackle . As each night progressed , the guests had become savy of my position and would retaliate with water pistols ! I swear , I was having SO MUCH FUN I didn't want to take my breaks , I was laughing so hard , I almost fell off that catwalk I was seated on . Thanks for all the great vids (and I hope Ally is a keeper!)

Thank you, enjoyed this video. When my kids were in grade school, I took them out of school once a year to go to Knotts. No long lines, and I truly believe this is educational, and we enjoy it more than the "other" attraction nearby.Thank you so much for helping me remember. We now live in Texas and I really miss being able to go whenever I want. Your videos make me happy and I appreciate you, keep up the good work.

adulthood made me forget all the Father-Daughter trips I would take there with my dad, specifically for chicken dinner. Thank you for reminding me that this great place is still there and that I am overdue to experience it in person. I havent been since 2000!

that crystal shop was built my dad its also haunted . I have the most wonderful stories and experiances working there, he was a concessioner ,this was a bells portrait studio . I cant tell you how many times I swept that floor or built a fire in the fire place ,and went up and down the stairs to the top floor . I had the most amazing childhood

Hey Justin do you remember when Knott's used to have all the player pianos and musical instruments? As a kid I used to stand there in the (little) Saloon and put dimes into that piano for hours! Then when I grew up, I got my own.;) I think Knott's auctioned them off a few years ago

My first recollection of Knotts was during the 1950's. Much of the original town was designed after the ghost town of Calico, CA. I enjoyed your romp thru present day Knott's, it brought back some great memories. Thanks.

Never really paid attention to the peak ins. I had a pass in then in the mid 90s, worked there at chowhouse in 99 and now have a pass and take my son. That doorway behind candy store is where i used to go and clock in when working at chowhouse... Ahh the memories. Im goin tomorrow and ill have check out the peak ins.. I also remember when the knife and smoke shop were by the school house and cemetery before shoved back by the corner.

5:52, I think that's the door to back stage. I remember there being a narrow hallway with a mirror for employees to check themselves one more time before they enter the ghost town. Next time you're there, try to open that door. When I was a teenager, I walked back there once and looked around. I was asked what I was doing, so I said I was looking for a restroom. I explained that I had gone through a door near the Bird Cage Theatre, and the guy brought me back into the ghost town and directed me to a restroom. Later that summer, I walked onto the back stage area from the delivery driveway and continued walking directly into the ghost town. I thought I was clever back then, but I now realize that I was just a cheat.

If you love history and amusement parks you should absolutely visit Dollywood in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. I know you'd love it! Gatlinburg is also just 10 min away and is like a small slice of Hollywood. And the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is just a mile out of Gatlinburg. It would be a great stop on any east coast trip!

I went to the British Museum years ago and saw their crystal skull. It was carved in the 19th century and passed off as a genuine ancient pre-Colombian Mesoamerican artifact, even though we have tons of art and artifacts from that time period and never found a crystal skull at an excavation site.
