This is maybe the most 80's of 80's movies. The music, Michael J Fox in his prime, the boundless optimism, the hair. One of my favorites.

Does anyone else love the instrumental sound when the Universal logo is showing?? It sounds very 80's futuristic 😎
@Fretboard_Frenzy2 жыл бұрын
That futuristic sounding synthwave style intro is a work of genius composer and producer David Foster. He contributed the themes of main movie score and also produced the soundtrack album with a lot of great bands of this awesome 80's flick.

I'm sure that alot of people can identify with Brantley Foster/Carlton Whitfield. Graduating from College, starting at a Fortune 500 Company and although you may start in The Mailroom you work hard and prove yourself and anything is possible.

Believe it or not, the theme song to this movie, The Secret of My Success, commissioned by Michael J. Fox, and written by Night Ranger, is used in the pre-game music lineup of football games for Kansas State University. Which Michael J. Fox's character graduated from. I heard it every weekend there was a football game this year.
@PGHammer21A3 жыл бұрын
Kansas State is one of the two universities in Kansas I actually visited in my trip to Kansas - the other is the University of Kansas. K-State is in Manhattan; UK is in Lawrence. (Lawrence - and UK - ALSO has a film connection - the post-Apocalyptic "The Day After".)

I was a teen when this movie came out (grade 11)! First saw it at the drive-in theatre in Langley BC (Drive-in shut down a couple years later to all our disappointment, nothing to do with the movie, obviously!)... About 15 km from where we all lived, near where Mickael J Fox is from... None of us knew him, or that he was from OUR neighborhood! Best movie ever, esp to see at a drive-in!

I love this movie so much. It’s fun and silly and very 1980s. Question for all who have seen it: How did Bradley expect to make it big with his scheme? He was still on his mailroom salary. The ending was because of a plan based on trouble. For those who haven’t seen it, please do. I have not really revealed much in this comment. It’s really fun.
@warnegoodman7 ай бұрын
That's definitely a problem with the script, it's never clear what exactly his plan is to parley his scheme into getting a better job, and when he is finally exposed he doesn't use it as an opportunity to pitch himself, so he's just fired. It worked much better in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
