Back in that JCC entrance exam arc, when Shin declared that he wanted to be independent, Sakamoto ended up crying... He must have remembered when he first met Shin in that moment. Poor guy. Sakamoto himself was a kid at the time... Also, his name is Asakura Shin not Ando Shin. Meaning he disowned his father and chose both Taro and the scientist. I think this is to remind Shin that he may not forgive a person and he may be able to kill people without hesitation (he was crying because he didn't feel any hesitation when facing Tenkyu) but he chooses to spare people making him different from both the JAA and X
